R U still recovering?

Greetings folks and welcome to 2006! I surely hope this year brings a bit more joy than last year did, with all the scandals and wars and bickering. How was your New Years Fest? What(or who) did you do for New Years Eve?

Me personally, I went to Paris France for the New Year. I took a train ride there with my girlfriend and her kids. We got there about 2 hours before midnight and gathered in front of the Eifel Tower to watch the show, along with around 1 million others, there was no problem keeping warm. about an hour after midnight, we hopped back on the train on our way back to Germany, where we continued to party with friends. There was lots of dancing and singing and more than enough drinking! All in all, I had one of the best new Years ever.

Nothing has changed as far as the problem with my daughter goes. I tried to call her over the Holidays and on her birthday, but her mother just hung up the phone, not even allowing me to wish her Merry Christmas or Happy Birthday. Bitch!I am counting on the court system and the Child Welfare Office to get this dispute settled soon, and all will fall on my behalf. Wish me luck, I miss my baby girl so much.

As for this morning, well, I went to Media Markt, an Electronics chain store here in Germany. All weekend they were advertising a DVD player for €19 or around $25 U.S. I stood quietly in the back of the long line that must have contained over 300 people dying to get in and grab 10 DVD players so they can turn around and sell them on Ebay for double the price. By the time I got in, the first pallet was empty and I again waited in the back of the crowd patiently watching for the stockroom doors to open again and all the hungry vultures dive onto the poor guy that happened to be handing them out. Well, while being bored and while waiting I started to look around. Then I saw a salesclerk come around the corner with a new pallet. Me being in the very back, turned around and grabbed up MY DVD player before turning back around and shouting, "here are more!" I stood and watched and laughed my ass off as those idiots were fighting eachother for one of these things, running off with 10 at a time. What the fuck are you going to do with 10 DVD players?

Well, I survived the "mob" and walked quietly and nonchelantly to the cashier with one of those shit-eatin'-oppossum grins on my face and gleefully paid before dashing to my car and rushing back to work(I played hooky for a good part of 45 minutes).

Have any of you ever experienced such a thing? Panic shopping? Like when "Furby's" came out or "cabbage patch kids", or "pokemon", "Yugi-oh"? It was a first timer for me, and defn8ly the last, but it was still amusing to watch after I had my treasure safe and sound under my arms.

Have a great day!

Welcome back The_Wraith! I didn't really do anything special this year. I stayed home with my family watched a couple of movies, had sex and went to sleep. I guess being healthy alive and in peace in one piece with my family is alreday a very speacial thing.

I bought a DVD player for $24 Canadian and gave it to a friend as a xmas gift.
