Proudly Presenting ...

The big project I'm working on is reaching a crucial stage.

Not only am I getting drowned in paperwork (what paperless office?) but I've reached the point where I need to start an internal publicity programme to convince the poor sods who're going to have to adapt to the new system that it's going to be wonderful!

I mentioned this to one of the doctors. It turned out to be one of my less inspired decisions. "We have the Grand Round on Thursday at 8.30am," she said. "Come along and give a 10-minute presentation, tell all the clinicians what the projects about, its history, who's involved, what changes they'll see, the project timetable, give them a software demo ..."

Oh, not much then! Easy to cram that into 10 minutes, eh?

So, come Thursday morning I shall be standing in front of 100 clinicians, praying that I can manage to bluff the medical terminology properly and remember all I've learned over the last couple of months! And before that, I need to actually generate and practise the presentation.

So, if I fail to blog tomorrow or don't turn up in the chat room ... well, you know what I'll be busy with!

The saying, "Fake It Until You Make It," comes to mind.

I shall hold a positive thought for you on Thursday....knock 'em dead with your brilliance.

Smooches,

BB3

Helga ... You want me to drone on about DICOM compatability for the different radiological modalities, the need to change clinical procedures to adapt to a filmless environment, the key differences in the user experience as delivered by DX workstations as opposed to large-screen PCs and the implications for RIS users as a result of changes necessitated by effective design constraints imposed by worklist automation? Somehow, I don't think so!
