What could I write about today?

Well, I could write about how differently my weekend turned out than I expected it to: no pizza, no film but lots of good time with Son of Quiet so that's good too. I could segue from that into a discussion of how his growing sex drive (14 and now sporting a reasonable beard!) is causing him to change his lifestyle quite drastically to shed the excess weight he's been carrying for so many years. As a consequence of that, I'm accompanying him to the gym and it's doing my fitness no harm either.

Alternatively, I could rant about how much trouble I had with This Site yesterday. I had a couple of blogs ready to load (and, believe me, they would have risen above the dross that normally gets uploaded to my blog like clouds above a desolate landscape!) and try as I might I just couldn't get This Site to cooperate. Now you'll never know what you missed!

Then again, I could introduce the wider world to a scandal that many may have missed as it's taken place in the realm of cricket (the civilised version of baseball) where an umpire (referee) offered to step down after a controversial decision for a secret payment of a mere $500,000. I have wondered, I admit, whether I should try the same approach to my own job. I could do with the time off and the money to help me pass the time off!

I could even put down my thoughts on a subject that has been occupying far too much of my thoughts of late: the mistake of thinking too much!

But, no ... I think I'll go away and try to think of something more worthwhile instead

Wait a minute. If the payment was a secret payment... Oh, I'm confused now.

The body in charge of the management of cricket that received the offer decided that it should be made public ... not least because they feared it would reach the public domain eventually anyway!

I'd take £100 if it meant I could walk!

Good to see your fitness regime is still on track! You might need it sometime soon!

I'm sure umpire Hare will make close to the alleged figure in selling the story somehow....and Max Clifford is already putting an arm round him.

What would Harold "Dickie" Bird think of it all?...hang on,i think i remembered him being interviewed on it and his comments were less than complimentary to the Aussie and rightly so!!!
