I like almost all types of music. About the only types of music that I don't like are what I call "elevator music", orchestrated popular music, and which in my view is anti-music.
I don't really know what I'd call my favorite type of music because there is so much that I like. I do think this particular era is producing a lot of good music. Unfortunately, what gets out to the major media, the radio stations, MTV, and the like is a rather narrow sample, but the Internet has allowed up and coming musical groups that haven't signed a record deal and that haven't toured extensively yet, to get exposure, and there is just so much good stuff out there.
Interpol for example; their song Evil got stuck in my brain going around and round for three days straight. A group called Pain doing a song called "Futz said Julie", interesting tune. A group out of Los Angeles called "Size 14", Claire Danes Poster got a little airplay but my favorite is, "I Touched Her Ass", there is a guitar riff about 3/4th's of the way through the song that is just awesome. I've lost count of how many tweeters I've blown on that. They have a website. I'd post the URL here except for AdultFriendFinder's rules forbidding the same, but if you go to Google you can find it.
Another group that has since disbanded that I really liked was the Crazy 8's. They were out of Portland but used to play at Parkers on Aurora back when it was a roadhouse instead of a sports bar and then later casino. Nervous in Suburbia, if that doesn't describe the modern human condition I don't know what does.
