Who likes to make a big deal when it is their birthday ?

My birthday is May 30th and I will be 39 yrs old.

Most of my life, it has been just another day for me.

I dont get a party thrown for me. I would never ask others to organize one either. I do not care for gift giving on birthdays.

The best birthdays were when a significant other took me out to dinner.

BUT there are some people that need to be the centre of attention. They get a birthday party thrown for them every year and they dont care who attends...the more the merrier.LOL.....I have been around for a while and it the same people all the time...

This has happened in my real time and I see it in my local area on AdultFriendFinder.

So my question is........do you like your birthday to be a small affair or do you like it to be a big deal ?

Mine is on a holiday (July 4th). When I was a little kid, it was a big deal, as most birthdays are as children. It got wrapped up together with the holiday fun with parades and fireworks. As an adult, I'm finding out it's last on the list of things to do. Everyone makes other plans because it's a holiday. I have learned to accept it as just another day.

Happy Birthday Steve.... *wink*... didn't realize you were a gemini... fascinating....

My birthday is almost always lowkey... just something simple with my partner, though I enjoy having my friends call, or getting a card from my family. Last 'big' birthday party I had was my 30th... even that was quite low-key.

Hope you enjoy your day.

no cake, no singing.. just give me my presents and git!!!

my birthday doesn't matter to me..

another person's does.. i see that as excuse to say i am happy you were born and are in my world..

may your birthday be a happy day for you steve..

i found my 9 birthdays to be tougher than the 0 ones.. the 9 marks the end of a decade, and the 0 a beginning...and the 5 is one to ponder my life..

LOL @ themisskrissy!

I prefer to have my friends go out with me to eat, but I don't require horns, hats, presents, etc. I just like to have an excuse to get together and laugh and have a good time.

*singing*

''Happy Birthday To You!''

It's a good thing you can't actually hear me sing...lol!

My birthday is July 1st. As a result, the weekend of my birthday, everyone is off at the shore or something and I tend to spend my birthdays alone. It's rare I get a party.

I joke about it every year, though. I tell people to check out my wish list at Amazon. I never do get around to organizing a party though. Why bother, when the people you actually want there are at the shore for the holiday weekend?

Thank you all for your comments.

I am not the only one that likes it quiet.
