Today's random thought.
Today's random thought.
The “Favorite song lyric?” question got me thinking (see entry Getting to know me, or you for that matter). I’ve come up with some lines that I think are great.
“Sitting on the doorstep of the house I can’t afford.” ‒ Julian Lennon
“Sweetheart, sweetheart, are you fast asleep? Good. That’s the only time I can really speak to you.” ‒ Pink Floyd
“The love that was, is love reborn. We’re determined to relive the pain. ‘Cause all lovers are deranged.” ‒ David Gilmour
“Times they’re a-changing nothing ever stands still. If I don’t start changing, I’ll be writing my will. It’s the same old story, never get a second chance for a dance to the top of the heap.” ‒ Aerosmith.
“Feel no pain but my life ain’t easy. I know I’m my best friend.” ‒ Metallica
“I was lying in a burned out basement with the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement when the sun burst through the sky.” ‒ Neil Young
“How do you make a have out of a have not?” ‒ Roger Waters
“I’m a sexual innuendo in this burned out paradise. You can turn me on to anything as long as you turn me on tonight.” ‒ Guns n’ Roses
“The time we feel most stable is the time we’re coming off the wall.” ‒ Saga
“Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen. Warm my mind with your gentle stove. Turn me out and I’ll wander, baby. Stumbling in the neon groves.” ‒ The Doors
“I hurt myself today, to see if I still feel.” ‒ Nine Inch Nails.
“All that I need is a way to deceive the eyes of the end. I could rise once again and still shine on.” ‒ The Tea Party
“She came in through the bathroom window.” ‒ The Beatles
“Be in my broadcast when this over. Give me your shoulder, I need someplace to wait for morning. No it was nothing, some car backfiring. Please don’t ask questions, I itch all over. Let me sleep.” ‒ Thomas Dolby
“So we cheated and we lied and we tested. And we never failed to fail, it was the easiest thing to do.” ‒ Crosby, Stills & Nash
“You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever, but you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun.” ‒ Cream
“Yeah, they’re all bold as love. Just ask the Axis.” ‒ Jimi Hendrix
“Beyond the river, over the sea. Somewhere past the last farewell that ever will be.” ‒ Robert Plant
The list goes on and on, those were just some of the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
