So you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking...

I was re-reading my Sex, Drugs and Rock n’ Roll entry, specifically the number of years it has been since I did some of those drugs. Where has the time gone? I swear just yesterday I was getting married for the first time. I spent almost ten years with my ex-wife. Five dating and almost five married. Looking back we had no business getting married so young. I spent the years that most people would spend fucking off and finding themselves (ages 22 to 27) tied to a wife and marriage. I learned a lot about myself and relationships but I sacrificed, what was at the time, a third of my life. Some days I wake up and I’ve got the world by the balls and other days the ticking of the clock is almost deafening. My life has slowed down in the last year. No more working two jobs and killing myself for the almighty dollar. It’s just not worth it. There’s no benefit to racing towards an early grave. Along with learning how to be a better person, I’m also trying to learn how to effectively manage my time. I need to learn how to stop, look and listen.

Today’s unpolished gem of wisdom is this…take time to look around you. Don’t sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff. If you see someone one on AdultFriendFinder that you want to contact, don’t wait. Today’s procrastination is tomorrow’s regret. Get out there and connect with someone.
