The End of the Movie Era

I was reading up on news just now in my local area.

I was deeply saddened by the news that our cheapest local theater, charging $1.75 a seat, is now having to "fold up your show...." as Robert Plant sang in the famous "CODA" album.

Don't it make me wanna cry that folks, especially our younger generation, can't go out and have the Great American Date of watching a movie together and go out for burgers afterward as a cheap night out.

Don't it make me even sadder our older folks can no longer go out and watch a movie together to relive those old days for no more money than it costed for the gas to get there in the first place.

It makes me mad at all these corporate assholes who gotta steal everyone's money for better than two hundred bucks a month sometimes to watch all this satellite bullshit without going out and doing things the old-fashioned way. Especially the suckers who are working twelve-to-sixteen hour days who are paying for this shit who have no free time to enjoy it in the first place.

I have a small television, which is lucky if I give it life for news maybe twice a week, and an occasional episode of a "Friends" rerun, and maybe Dave Letterman once in a blue moon, and a VCR (borrowed, mind you) for the occasional movie.

And we call ourselves an intelligent society???

Well it don't make much sense to me when we are stealing away some of our fondest traditions.

It is sad because we had one of those also. I was saddened by it's closing. Things change in this life and there isn't anything we can do about it, most of the time.

Anyway, there is a thing going around in blogland,I was tagged-six weird things, so,
Tag, Your IT!.
This is explained in my blog.
