Tala + acting on silly ideas = just a little trouble!

If I could just have silly ideas and not do them to see what happens would be a marked improvement. The 'law of probability', it's a mathematical thing, all I know about it is apparently, 'the more you do something the higher chance it will happen', kinda describes how it works.

Once I read that many people when doing job applications embelish their qualifications and experience to appear more attractive for the position. This knowledge gave rise to a little hobby/amusement I created. Going through the employment pages and sending off applications for jobs that there was no chance of getting even if the selection committee had taken every known hallucinatory substance know to exist and mine was the only application received.

A pretty safe and harmless amusement purely for myself to pass the time and practise creative writing. It was always funs to get the rejection letters from major corporations after sending off my letters applying to be the New Managing Director, Advertising Executive or Public Relations Officer and such.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to restore the practise during a fit of boredom before starting the new season of shows. I must be getting stupider or is that dumb and dumber in seeking thrills. The date for the successful applicant to start the job has passed and I had forgotten all about it until yesterday. Because yesterday I got a phone call from the body telling me I have an interview next Tuesday.

This is serious, when doing these little creative exersises I did make sure that there was some half assed relevance in my past experience to be able to create colorful applications from. But this time it seems after discussing my application with the executive who contacted me, I may be what they really want. Plus I was pretty sure this was bullshit and was sussing out who was playing the joke. BIG JOKE, this is real. There is no way I wanted to make these people look like fools in deciding I should be interviewed, I play the fool for my living and that's okay. I am a trained proffessional dickhead. And even I know that poking carnivorous beasties with a stick is dangerous even if they are inside a private enclosure, because I am in the zoo with them and whose to know if a gate may be left open and Tala and the beasties end up in the same space.

As my mate Keith Can Cook pointed out during a chat with me, he perceives that occaisionally I have conflict with "THE MAN" This is kinda true because part of doing comedy is taking the piss out of authority figures. And it seems that sometimes "THE MAN" takes it personally.

First I hunt down my supposed 'MATES?FRIENDS? and BUDDIES? who were on my references contacts and KNOW what I do when applying for these jobs. Who surprisingly all seem to be very hard to contact?! Yesterday, One had suddenly decided to drive 150 miles to watch one of his horses race, another was not in his studio painting as he always is and his wife did not know where he was either! Another Is unavailable as well, she is having a break from her movie production work.
This has the makings of a conspiracy and perhaps some return for some of the tricks and jokes Tala has dished out in the past. Very fucking funny guys!!!

Well now it seems for some reason "THE MAN" seems to think that my skills and talents can be utilised by them. Tala is not a total idiot, math may not be a forte but I can count dollar bills and drive a car which are part of the generous offer. It is the wearing of the 'tie!', to start that is a concern. Plus real jobs cause rashes! and that part of this job involves regular contact with political and community groups in the region.

Worst of all Tala is highly competatve and hates losing anything. Even doing the interview has become an exciting challenge. Because if a meglomaniac like me gets this job MY MATES?FRIENDS? and BUDDIES? will find out just how dedicated to humour Tala can be in taking a joke. ROFLMFAO

Well you can still have the last laugh, go flat out to get the job and ask for a salary that is increadably hight. That way you can win but still not get the job.

Thank You for Your Time and Attention

Yes I do feel like a fly in chicken soup Katey. Which reminds me where have all the wild chickens gone?

Expat you master-mind Tala has put that suggestion in his armoury for tomorrow, he needs to have weapons at hand. The MAN has just phoned me a while ago and he is also cheating and had the audacity to use "Flattery"!!!! This is totally unfair in my rules of engagement. Due to the fact I am defenceless to its use. Plus the idea of exacting my revenge upon my 'Mates' in taking the package is sooo tempting.

Damn don't know if my last post on here stuck about the traumatic experience of the interview Yes I was successful and did not get the job. I still thought it was just a joke gone wrong until I walked in to the interview room and a person I had worked with was on the selection committee!
I have now retired from my having fun with 'real jobs' and will never do it again, this was too close for comfort. But a lot of positives cme out of it and that was great plus I learnt a lesson hahahha

So Tala would this be a textbook case study example of live by the prank, get done over by the prank. Then again the corporate world does need humour, or maybe they just wanted to hire a fall guy.
I think that karmic balance is saying that it is time to retire as you have indicated, before you get painted into a corner with no escape hatch.

Oh and yeah one line of questioning during the interview definately had that faint wiff of looking for a Fall Guy about it. I am glad I did it looking back it was the best fun and the benefits far outweighed the negatives.

Naw, don't stop now. There are so many more occupations to explore. I think your next target should be the airline industry. Apply for pilot, using your experience with the Flying Penguins as the key point on your resume...

On second thought, maybe that isn't such a good idea.

At least you would get a cool uniform out of the bargain...
