MOVIE REVIEW - 'Glory Road'

"Glory Road" is the inspiring true story of the underdog Texas Western basketball team, with history's first all African American starting lineup of players, who took the country by storm, surprisingly winning the 1966 NCAA tournament title. In winning the 1966 NCAA championship, the Miners from El Paso, TX defeated Kansas in the semi-final game of the tournament and then Adolf Rupp's #1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats in the championship game.

Josh Lucas stars as Hall of Famer Don Haskins, the passionately dedicated college basketball coach that changed the history of basketball with his team's victory in this time of innocence. The movie is a look back at the events and music of the 60's.

I saw "Glory Road" Sunday night and thoroughly enjoyed it! If you are a college basketball fan and if you are interested to know more about race relations in the USA during the 60's, go and see this movie!

REMEMBER: I am testing my new simple standard comment system. Based upon comments received in my previous post, I have expanded the system by adding an 'E' and an 'F' as follows:

A. Great posting! You're really sexy! I want to give you a blowjob!
B. I'm not that hot on your posting, but I'd still like to fuck you!
C. I don't want to fuck you or give you a blowjob. Have a nice day!
D. Fuck you and the horse you road in on! Stupid fucking post!
E. I enjoyed your post, but I'm not interested in sex at this time!
F. I enjoyed your post, and under the right circumstances I might be persuaded to do both 'A' and 'B'.

My automatic replies will be as follows:

A. When? Where? Shall I bring a bottle of wine?
B. When? Where? I'll bring the condoms and wine.
C. Have a nice day too! Please come back if you change your mind!
D. I realize the post was stupid, but perhaps you'll reconsider?
E. Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep trying!
F. When can we talk? Do I have your email address or IM handle?

[blog 1hotwahine] - I've added more comment options at your specific request. I thought that I had now covered every conceivable option? What does N/A mean? Not available? Not applicable? Nice ass? My simplified comment systems is becoming more complicated all the time! Sort of like the IRS Income Tax Code!

I'm not good at following rules - so I will not be complying with your simplified comment system. Feel free to issue me a spanking over that if you wish!

As for the movie - I say let's not watch it at your place sometime soon!!! LOL! Which I guess would put my response at A if I were to follow the rules.

Whisper...

Whispersoftly5 - I will plan on not watching the movie with you and hopefully very soon! Thanks for your two answers! I like both of them!

[blog digdug1] - Thanks for dropping by! You will really enjoy this movie! The Texas Western Miners beat a powerhouse Kansas Jayhawk team that featured Jo Jo White, an All-American point guard. Then in the championship game they defeated Adolph Rupp's #1 Kentucky Wildcats that featured Pat Riley and an exclusively white team. After that loss, Kentucky and many other Division I college basketball programs began to actively recruit black athletes. Years later, Kentucky hired their first black head coach, Tubby Smith, who went on to win the NCAA championship in his very first year at the helm. The race barrier in college basketball was broken and the game was changed forever!

digdug41 - 'Sorry 'bout that partner! I screwed up the link to your blog! Go to this movie and appreciate how far we have come in this country since the 60's and the role that one small university in western Texas played in helping to bring about a transformation in college basketball. This is a story that needs to be seen by everyone in this country ... basketball fan or not!

[blog mzhunyhole] - My reply according to my new simplified automatic reply system is: A. When? Where? Shall I bring a bottle of wine? and F. When can we talk? Do I have your email address or IM handle? Dang, MzHuny, I'm all hot n' bothered now! I never got an A. and an F. for a comment! I think I hit the jackpot, MzHuny!

[blog mzhunyhole] - I'm sorry but I forgot to tell you to be sure and see this movie. You'll relate to the part about Adolf Rupp and the Kentucky Wildcats. Maybe you have another grandson that is a Wildcat fan? If not, maybe I need to drive over and take you to see the movie myself! Either way, MzHuny, go see it!
