I GIVE THANKS FOR ......

I'm up early blogging this morning, sending out a few emails and answering a few telephones messages before I set out for central Missouri where my mom, age 80, still lives. My daughter, a senior at Mizzou this year, will be joining us to spend a few days over Thanksgiving.

On this day just prior to Thanksgiving Day, I was just thinking about the things for which I am thankful. I give thanks for.....

1. my own good health,
2. the good health of my mom and my daughter,
3. their undying love and support,
4. my friends and close business associates,
5. the new friends I'm meeting here in Blogville,
6. the opportunity to live and work in America,
7. my faith in God which helps sustain me during difficult times.

Funny, but there was a time in my life when there would have been material possessions and career related things on my list. Strange how priorities change with age. What is truly important in life seems to come into clearer, sharper focus even as our physical eye sight begins to dim a bit!

How about you? Has your list of things to be thankful for changed through the years? Would you mind sharing?

Well said Tiger

My list's pretty much the same. Having had cancer myself twice and working with kids with cancer gives you perspective early. Except I have no faith in God. God has never done anything to earn my faith but he/she/it does owe me some answers to explain why there is suffering in this world.

1. the good health of my mom, my siblings, and their children;
2. their undying love and support;
3. my friends;
4. the new friends I'm meeting here in Blogville;
5. the opportunity to live and work in America.

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Safe journeys.

From one Tiger to another Luke...

You are one of those new friends I have found here in Blogville. Thanks for going to bat for me with AdultFriendFinder when 'Tiger Dick' needed some support on the "pit bull solicitation" issue which they completely exaggerated!

I've taken particular note that you live in Chapel Hill, NC. My daughter will be entering grad school in a few more semesters. One school that we are looking at is the University of North Carolina there in Chapel Hill. If it does turn out that she goes to grad school at UNC, I will make a point of looking you up on one of my trips to visit her!

Let me know if you are ever in town. I get to buy the first glass of beer or wine on Franklin Street.
