God Sent Her An Angel

I've run across a lot of amazing and talented people here in Blogville. I came here last November as TTigerAtty to represent TigerDick who had been banished from Blogville on Halloween Day, incarcerated in the Not So Friendly Jail, accused of soliciting on behalf of orphaned pit bulls. I'll tell ya' all a little secret ... technically, TigerDick is guilty as hell, but he was just tryin' to help out some poor pitbulls and recognize tillerbabe for taking in not just one but three of those critters!

Back to my point! Anyway, you all know there is a great deal of talent on this site. What a real community we'd make if we created 'Blogville' on some nice tropical island! But there are people here too with amazing stories. Life stories that when learned will rip at your heart. People coming from impoverished backgrounds to attain financial success. People who pick up the pieces after a divorce and methodically put their lives back together again. I have recently become aware of another type of person on this site. There are a number of people who have suffered from a terrible childhood of abuse, sexual molestation and/or sexual exploitation. I admit to being very naive about this horribly heinous problem in the USA and the rest of the world for that matter. I was fortunate as a kid growing up in a small mid-Missouri town to never have to fear for this type of thing. I rode my bicycle to school, to baseball practice, and to the Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone. Parents knew other parents and they looked out for all the kids in town. Those were simpler times, and in so many ways, better times. My daughter, now only 3 weeks away from age 22, was never abused, molested or in her child day care or in the public schools she attended in our hometown of Cape Girardeau, MO. We were very, very fortunate!

I have become aware of a number of women on this site who have not been so fortunate. They were either abused in dysfunctional marriages or relationships, or abused in their childhoods by alcoholic, chemically impaired or just angry parents, relatives or non-family members, and then there are some who have been or forced into prostitution at very tender ages. I have become aware, along with many of you most recently, of a potential abuse incident involving the disabled daughter of another mother. You just don't know whether to cry or scream when you learn of these heinous incidents.

This recent opening of my own personal consciousness, my own awareness of what the issues are, some of the recent incidents which have been reported along with my great respect, admiration and affection for one of our Blogville ladies has combined to inspire me to write up a little poem.

When I see a person who retains so much vitality, optimism, faith and joy after going through the life experiences as this person has, I just have to bow to them in admiration. I don't know if I could have come through experiences like she has faced and still believe in a God, still be happy and cheerful and still have the unbridled zest for life that she has. This lady has used the impetus of her past horrors to found and organize a non-profit group in the Kansas City area which helps young women who have suffered abuse and sexual exploitation.

This poem was inspired by MOfunNOWWOW, a fellow Missourian, a sweet, lovely young lady, loving mother and proud grandmother. I started getting to know MO over the blogs starting in January, if my recollection serves me correctly. If you have not visited her blog yet and if you perhaps have been through terrible experiences in your past and need to be uplifted, I highly recommended you to check in on MO. Her blog is always MOfun, MOuplifting and MOoptimistic than you might find in other venues.

This poem is for you, MO! Thanks for keeping me MOinspired! 'Hope you like it, hon!

She's a lady, an angel,
A person so sweet,
A breath of fresh spring air,
The kind you'd like to meet!

Abused as a tiny child,
Treated so badly,
Forced against her own will,
By evil so cruelly.

I really wanna hug her,
Tell her she's special,
Let her know how I feel,
So awful, yet grateful.

God sent her an angel,
A protection from evil.
The devil's been defeated,
And His angel's with her still.

As I get to know her now,
Aware of her past,
I marvel at her strength,
And her faith so steadfast.

More fun than you'd imagine,
More loving she is now,
More gentle and caring,
I'm really amazed how.

And as I now consider
All that she's been through,
I wonder if I could have
Remained so loving too.

God sent her an angel,
A protection from evil.
The devil's been defeated,
And His angel's with her still.

I just have to believe there
Was a higher power
Within the depths of her soul,
A guard in those dark hours.

Standing strong against darkness,
Helping her face evil,
Protecting her sweet soul,
And I pray He always will.

I'm so impressed and inspired.
I'll tell ya' quite proudly,
I've learned so much about life
From this courageous lady.

God sent her an angel,
A protection from evil.
The devil's been defeated,
And His angel's with her still.

It's so sad that her childhood
Was stolen 'way from her,
Yet I'm grateful she's endured,
Grown stronger and much more.

For she's now quite a witness
To the healing power of the LORD
And by her own example,
She's sharing Jesus' WORD.

An inspiration to many,
Optimistic and cheerful,
You can't help but feel drawn
To a lady so hopeful.

God sent her an angel,
A protection from evil.
The devil's been defeated,
And His angel's with her still.

MOre fun than you'd imagine,
MOre loving still NOW,
MOre gentle and caring,
And all I can say is WOW!

You're simply amazing to me, MO. Have a super, super Easter weekend with your family, especially with your grandmother who, now 88, won't be with you on this earth for too many more Easters. From what you've told me about your relationship with her, she will always be with you and that angel that God sent you many years ago!

When you get to talking with people about this subject, you'll find that there are way too many people out there in our society who have been abused, molested, and/or exploited. Ya' know, I'm not sure why we don't have a 'War On Inhumanity' like we have a 'War On Drugs'? 903,000 Americans impacted last year. I suppose more people than that are impacted by illegal Drugs, but still, 903,000 is a large number and they are the innocent being preyed upon by the evil ones! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Easter Weekend!

Darn skippy! Kitty is losing over a pound a day, and has stopped smoking. Will post more when I get set up in the new house. I ought to be getting my wings before long, so I might "drop in" on you. The Cape is not very far if you are driving a Cessna.

This seems to be another miracle going on in Webb City! Would you do a post on it some time? I'd love to hear her story, and I believe others would as well! I'll keep you and her in my thoughts and prayers that she might coninue the good progress she is suddenly making!
