BLOG ON! *** Chapter 31

Detective Tyron Washington settled into his comfortable swivel chair behind a big steel desk. The manila case files that had been previously scattered all over his desk had now been stacked together upon a four-drawer matching steel file cabinet. All the office furniture in the department was non-descript, black Steelcase furniture, not too attractive but durable. There in the center of his desk was the large black leather Dooney and Bourke handbag he had retrieved from the BMW over at 'The Power Exchange' parking lot.

He dumped the entire contents of the handbag onto the top of his desk. Looking at the wall clock, he noted the time was now 11:45 am. He wanted to get done cataloguing this evidence by at least 2 pm so he could spend some time with his wife. After struggling to get his hands into the tight fitting surgical gloves, he began to examine each item one by one.

He carefully and methodically catalogued a list of the contents. This list together with everything found would be placed into the department's evidence storage room.

32. Ring full of keys
33. Checkbook - Stacy Lee Stone (Bank of America)
34. 1 gold-plated Cross ink pen

And that was it. Nothing really interesting but the bag of white powder that certainly appeared to be cocaine. Detective Washington looked up at his wall clock. The time was now 12:48 pm.

By the time I get all these items down to the evidence room and walk this bag of white powder down to the lab, it will be nearly 1:30 pm. That's enough for today! I'm gonna knock off and go on home to spend some time with Linda. Detective Washington thought to himself.

It was 1:25 pm as Detective Washington left the station. He called Linda to tell her he was on the way home.

"Hey, hon, I'll be home in about 20 minutes! You wanna go out for something to eat?" Tyrone asked his wife.

"No that's OK, baby! I baked us a chicken and made a bunch of side dishes to go with it. It's smells pretty good, baby! Even baked you a cherry pie!" Linda was an excellent cook and the image of her baked chicken made Ty's mouth water. Her cherry pie was his favorite!

"Sounds great, hon! I'll be there just as soon as I can!" Ty pressed down on the accelerator. The traffic in this part of San Francisco was pretty light on a Sunday afternoon. He couldn't wait to get home!

The Cavs have LeBron James, right? Are they good enough as a team to go all the way? I have no idea. I barely get enough time to follow our Cardinals.

Lord, Mag! I don't understand all these big blowouts? The Lakers got blown out by the Suns the other day too! I watched Barry Bonds his 713th homer last night. One more to tie 'The Babe'!
