I have been soaking up the last vestiges of warmth offered to us by Mother Nature these past two days. I am not one for cold, even though it doesn't affect me unless it is down right artic. I am forever being reprimanded by my spouse for sweeping the sidewalks of snow in my flip flops, or going out without a coat. I just tell him I am made from hearty stock and he should appreciate my ability to maintain core body temperature. --lol-- The leaves have just begun to come into their peak color and the hot air balloons are a daily sight. I am just a happy girl and wish everyone peace and contentment today!

Like you, I don't like the cold. Unlike you, while my stock was indeed hardy, it wasn't passed on to me. Give me the sunshine, the blue skies of Spring and Summer, and temps over seventy degrees!!! I like the idea of having a tan all year long.

Wish I could see those hot air balloons. Better yet, a bottle of wine, you, and a ride. What would we see together from that vantage point? Can you describe it for me? What a terrific day that would be.

And thank you for your happy wishes, ssg. Know you have mine, also!

Warm hug, and a big smile, unlisted

The colors are beautiful! Vibrant oranges and deep hues of reds and yellows. Interspersed between the evergreens that are abundant here. I had to make a trip over the mountain and coming down the view over the valley was breath-taking. It looked as if God had come down with a paintbrush and swirled the colors across the ridges. I love summer, but there is nothing better than to see the changes of fall.

As far as the hot air balloon...you would get to see me white knuckled and barely breathing. I am not much on heights and especially in a contraption that depends on hot air and wind currents to keep me aloft. A nice blanket spread on the ground, leaning back and watching the clouds race through the sky is more my speed.

Have a fantastic Wednesday!

You describe a very beautiful place, ssg... whether it's from a blanket on the ground or in a balloon. A perfect indian summer's day. Your idea of watching the clouds would be peaceful, indeed.

Take care, smile, and give someone you care for a hug...
just because you can. unlisted

Dear SS Girl,

What a nice blog, I live up in PA and I always enjoy the Fall; the colors, the smell of the fallen leaves, the sound of them blowing around on the ground. But I agree the best is the sight of a forest of color. Amazing what God shares with us!

PS: Liked your blog about a love fallen away. You have a big heart, and there is room for more memories. Good luck.
