Expressing yourself properly

It's amazing to me the number of people, on here and at work, who comment on how I am able to put a sentence together.

Why is that such a shock?

I went to school, got a diploma, and work in a business office. Basic writing skills should be a pre-requisite for any office job.

It constantly amazes me to see the officers at my job not being able to put together a written response to a customer without having grammatical and/or typographical errors.

It just amazes me......

(My achilles heel is the use of periods... I use them to signify a continued thought or a ... dramatic pause)

Punctation has always been a problem with me. I spell well but can't figure out the ; and , and the other marks except for the . and the ? I know where they go.

We're simply forced to acknowledge your skills, since we're overwhelmed by the number of functional illiterates masquerading as intelligent and educated adults!
