Things That Make Me Happy Today

1. Good sleep. Going to bed at a decent hour, in a rested and happy mood, sleeping all through the night. Sheets soft, the perfect temperature, pillows just fluffy enough and waking up 2 minutes before the alarm. Good morning, sunshine.
2. Long, rambling conversations with people that you can talk about anything with. Conversations where you go from religion to holidays to nonsense to childhood memories to morals. They leave you feeling satisfied, like eating a really great meal.
3. Private jokes. Having a private joke with someone is a reminder of something that was funny, but it is also a reminder of a closeness, a connection with that person.
4. Dasani water. I don’t know why, but I love Dasani more than any other bottled water. I usually keep it at home, but am never able to buy it at the little store at work. Today, however, they started stocking it. I love Dasani.
5. Getting to know someone interesting. People intrigue me. Their lives, their situations, their hopes and dreams, fears and desires. When someone opens up to me to allow me to get to know them, I see it as a gift, a giving of themselves. And I treasure that. I am insatiably curious, otherwise known as nosy, and when people are open with me, I am fascinated.
6. Time going faster than you thought, especially while working. I love looking up and being surprised that two hours has gone by. Surprise surprise.
7. Muscle soreness. I know that one sounds weird, but it reminds me. It reminds me that I have done my workout 3 days in a row which is new for me. That I did the entire thing all three times, and that on some level, it works. It reminds me that at least I can move, and that I should. And just a little soreness makes me very body conscious, which is highly sensual. Purr.
8. My boss’s blue shirt. I don’t know why, but I love blue dress shirts on men. I think they are so beautiful. Blue is my favorite color, and it just isn’t as stuffy as a white button up. My bosses know I love them as I frequently compliment them when they wear the blue shirts. By some fortuitous twist of fate, 3 of my bosses are wearing blue shirts today. Utopia.
9. Good hair days. My hair isn’t complicated really, and I’m pretty much a no fuss kind of girl. It is shoulder length, a little thick, brown, and sort of naturally wavy. I say sort of because it isn’t really wavy enough to qualify as wavy, just … messy. So, usually, I blow dry it straight. Sometimes it looks good, sometimes it doesn’t. Today, it does. The ends bend inwards just so. It looks like chocolate syrup, rich and silky, shiny and soft. Love it.
10. Ben wa balls. Right…2 days of toy posts, and you thought I was finished? I got these and was given the instructions to hold them inside for ten minutes, and to gradually build that up. Okay. Well, I can hold them much longer. So far, at home, I’ve gone about an hour and a half. So today, I was feeling a bit naughty, and I wore them to work. Right. I’ve got them in right now. Currently, that is 3 hours and 45 minutes. The only time it got testy was coming down the stairs of the parking garage. Have to be a bit careful to squeeze then. Mostly, it is making me very aware of things in that region. Love that too.

So what has made you happy today? Be specific, today, not just in general.

The things that have made me happy today...

Waking up, kissing my son, telling my "dad" I miss him!, playing with my puppy, writing my words down, meeting up with a friend, playing the guitar, helping the boy with his homework, looking at her picture. Thinking about my life and how lucky I feel!

Thanks Sunney....sometimes it is good to retrospect!

Now, see, this is something I have to do. No, not the ben wa balls (you are so naughty! I love it!), but the list of things that make me happy today. I think it's important to keep tabs on the things you're thankful for, the things that make you happy.

Things that make me happy?
1. The tech support department for the company that makes our work computers. Interesting that the department is always so upbeat, considering that their products are so Godawful.
2. Good deals. I teach private lessons once a week in one of the richer neighborhoods in Atlanta, and there's a consignment store there. Mmm. Secondhand clothes from rich people. Scored a $175 pair of jeans for $25. Woo!
3. My cats. They're soft, and warm, and cute. One of them is purring right next to me.
4. Early October in the military. Know what "fallout" is? It's Christmas in October, baby.
5. Thai noodle soup. Oh so yummy, and half of it is in my fridge for lunch tomorrow.
6. Time alone. This week, most of the people I work with are out of town. There are like five of us still here. I do like the quiet.
7. Early fall. The brutal GA summer all but killed my poor tomato plant. But the arrival of slightly milder temperatures has given it new life, and even new flowers. Yay fall!
8. It's also threatening to rain today. You get tired of the sun sometimes, you know?
9. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Wait, no. That's something else.
10. Ben Wa Balls. Another post from Sunney that makes me smile, at the same time that my new jeans start to feel kinda tight...

Poet - all good things. I like that you said "looking at her picture". It is funny how sometimes, just looking at a picture is enough to remind us of how that person makes us feel. I may add that one to my list too... not "her"...but...you know... nevermind.

hereforyou - Hey there, GA man! Ohhh, you have a tomato plant? Well, of course you do, you're in GA. I wish I did. Hell, for that matter, I wish I still got some sort of fall at all. It is still hot as hell and sunny here. However, this morning, I left for work a little early. It was overcast, and the sky was a deep gray skudded with whitish clouds. Here and there the sun broke through. The bay was very calm, like iron almost, with streaks of light where the sun managed to break through. And here and there, the wind whipped a whitecap. I had to stop, for just a few minutes, and put my feet in the sand. That made me pretty happy too, that I could do that on the way to work. In fact, I think there is still a lil sand in my lovely croc shoes.

Update - the Ben Wa balls made it 6 hours. Not because I couldn't hold them anymore, but because I had to pee and was tired of thinking about them. Something tells me this is a new toy that I'm bored with already. No big challenge.

A little personal information about the ben-wa balls...If I know I'm going to be having sex, I might wear mine all day. When I do I am WAY wetter and orgasm WAY more intensely and for longer/more orgasms than without. Oh, and if your partner is on the smaller side, try sex with the balls in. That feels good too.

But, be careful if you use any lube to insert the balls and then use condoms later...water-based only!

like to lose myself when I'm in the throes of passion. talking is good as long as it sends me ever deeper into the hysteria of dirty wet sex. Like the last time I had sex with my wife (which I'm afraid to say was 2 weeks ago). She really got into a kinky tie-me-up scenario. she's a passionate lady but normally uses her verbal skills to give me a bollocking (thats giving me shit to all you non Irish). this time however she put her mouth to good use in a non blowjob fashion and started whimpering needily as I tied her slowly to the bedpost. As i trailed my tongue along her toes, over her ankles and into her inner thighs -her thighs were spread wide and her lovebox was available to my probing tongue. I decided to bypass her ever moistening pussy however to tease her and let her grow alot hornier. Instead i moved onto her hips and around her belly button and bulging breasts. I lightly trailed my tongue over her nipples and lips and let left long trails of wanton spit glistening on her hot body -all of which she couldn't see through the blindfold. by this stage she was becoming increasingly agitated because she was getting extremely hungry for my hard cock. her whimpers starting turning into whines and she eventually started articulating these sexual needs into orders to fulfill that need. Quote "you're turning me into a filthy bitch that wants to get fucked hard" or stop fucking around and start fucking ME". I was pleased with this because the only time she had spoken before during sex was to announce that she needed to fart or maybe I should cut my toenails. All of which has a dampening effect on passion as I'm sure you can all understand.

this made me happy!

There 's quite a few things that make me happy. Simple every day things.
~Scoring a goal or two in my weekly soccer game always sends me home with a big, big smile on my face.
~A good meal; not necessarily rich, but healthy and tasty.
~My mother's swimming pool, especially when she 's away for the summer. I have the place to myself, can just spend hours there.
~Shaving. First thing in the morning every day. Sometimes if I have the time [and I usually do], I even prepare the foamand spread it on my face with a brush.
~Reading my newspaper during breakfast.
~Funny you should mention it Sunney, but I have a thing for blue shirts. Especially striped ones. I have about 40 of them (yes, 40). Mostly striped, in all kinds of patterns [pencil stripe, chalk stripe, multi-pattern stripe, striped oxfords], a dozen solids and a couple of glenn-plaids. I usually wear them with silk knit ties and tweed jackets.
~Perrier; about a litre a day. [1/4 of a gallon]
~Making mix cd's on my pc. I create my day's soundtrack.

...boy, I could go on... better stop.

Funny-- You're really not that far away (close enough for a weekend trip, as far as I'm concerned), and yet I wore a jacket for the first time today. It's raining right now, that kind of light hard rain that stings, you know? It's supposed to pour tonight-- tropical storm Tammy, you know-- but we haven't seen that yet. I for one am looking forward to it.

Yes, I have one lonely tomato. On a big, big bush (hee! I said bush. That's cool. Yes, I'm twelve). I also have (on my front porch) some oregano, sage, parsley, genovese basil, thai basil, thyme, peppermint, catnip, purslane, chrysanthemums, petunias, catnip, and red bell peppers. Most of them are doing OK, though I feared for the parsley at one point.

Huh. This ended up being really boring. Maybe it should've been an email. Then only you would know what a gigantic geek I really am. Hee.

ManOne - Wanton spit... is that like wonton spit, which happens after too much Chinese? Just teasing... that was hot.

Justforfun - Yeah, calamari makes me very happy too.

Toothy - Wow, a whole list, thanks! Those are all very good things.

Hereforyou - I don't think that is geeky at all. I started a little container herb garden, my first. Sadly, it hasn't done so well so far. My basil is great, but I should've gotten more than one plant. The dill is too delicate. The cilantro just isn't green enough. My oregano won't stay alive. Ahh, but the Rosemary is lovely. *giggle* And thank you for the compliment.

Regular sweet basil takes to cuttings really well. Get some shears, cut off one of the branches, stick it into another container, and go to town. You might need some root hormone, but you shouldn't.

I had cilantro and rosemary, too. They didn't make it (*sniff*). My oregano's going berserk. I have it in a self-watering pot, and now I think it's developed world-domination ambitions. Heh.
