One Hand

Let’s go away from here.
away from the temptations,
away from the hands that pull at both of us.
We stay here, and why?
When does faith in the future win out
over fear of the past?
One step from each of us,
one step closer together, and further
from this.
If we stay here, we can’t last.
There are too many hands,
too many
that don’t wish for our future.
When is it time?
I don’t know.
When does the unknown,
reached out in front of us,
look better than multiple hands pulling from behind?
So many hands seems so safe.
So easy to be lost in them.
To let them hold us, touch us.
But in so many, we are
One hand
shows the way.
One hand
offers more.
One hand
reaches for each of us.
Let’s go away from here
Trust in
One hand.
One hand.
My hand, and
let’s go away from here.

~~~~I hid this post for about 24 hours. It was intensely personal and very charged with feeling for me. But, someone said I should leave it, as it was my feeling. I guess, in that way, that it is valid, and at the moment that I wrote it, it was how I felt. So, I'm putting it back.~~~~
You have no idea how I have searched for the words to say this exact same thing...but feared that I would sound too...desperate... for a man. It is rough when you long for a specific person and find unrequited desires, amongst others that may or may not fulfill
them or only fulfill a small part of what you need... Thank you.
"When does faith in the future win out over fear of the past?" I love that line.
"And your gravity fails And negativity don't pull you through" - Bob Dylan - Just like Tom Thumb Blues
Good luck I hope that gravity pulls you through.
I just took a step toward faith in the future. Hello Hollywood, Now Phuque Off!
Sizz - Thank you, that means a lot to me. It always helps to know you aren't the only one with these crazy feelings when you start to feel stupid for having them.
Bossier - Thank you too.
This is a beautiful post I'm so glad you put it up. Never try to hide how you feel or what you really want. Hideing it can only hurt you
you are a poet, too. A skilled use of a single word picture, to draw a remarkabe portrait of you innermost feelings. Needless to say... I enjoyed it, very much. *smiling*
