Chemistry 101

What is it about chemistry that is so elusive, so indefinable? Why is it that sometimes chemistry has nothing to do with attraction? You can be attracted, but have no chemistry, or have chemistry where you did not previously have an attraction. Strange.

I went to a local meet & greet last night. They have become quite successful, thanks to all those who attend regularly. We have become like a large group of friends who flirt with an off chance of hooking up. It’s kind of a funny dynamic really. Peppered liberally with new people who come and go, or who come and stay and become part of the core group.

So last night, I was sitting getting acquainted with my date ‒ Mr. Michelob Light ‒ and watching everyone while thinking about chemistry. I wonder if chemistry is always mutual. If one person feels it, does the other? There was a certain person in attendance last night though that I had some little inklings of chemistry with. I’m not sure if the other person felt it, I have no idea. Maybe it was just the fun of being out, having fun and the rush of meeting someone new. I’m not sure.

See, that’s the thing about chemistry, you can’t really analyze it. I’m not sure if I’ll ever even speak to this person again. The ball is in their court. But those eyes, that smile… For now, I’ll just sit back and enjoy a slow sizzle ‒ kind of nice to have that once in a while.

What are your thoughts on chemistry, readers? Is it always mutual? Where does it come from?

There are countless ways to define it, but my idea of simple chemistry is the mixture of physical attraction and the desire to be around each other in general based on what's learned through conversation.

Recognizing it can be tough sometimes, but reading the body language can give you some clues. What was his body language saying? And the biggest clue of all: do you both have a way to contact each other?

Let me drive. I like the view

Body language said interested, and yes, we do. So, I suppose we'll see. So, Cleavis, how do you know it wasn't you? Teasin' honey.

Well here is my view of it.
1. It takes that first look....when you inside gives you a tingle.
2. after that then there is the some conversation....most times this can wipe out item #1
3. Then we go to mannerisms....this will reconfirm #1
4. body lanuage.....enough said
5. physical attraction....
6. and that first deep kiss.
All the above pumps the hormones to high levels.
but an overindulgence of alcohol can make you say..."what was I thinkin"
