Shit Eating Grin

I remember when I first heard that phrase back in college.

I remember when and who taught me certain new words.

Certain songs bring up an image of a particular place and time when the song was playing. It's almost as if I was there.

How 'bout you?

I can determine waht year I dated someone by the songs that were popular then....I always connect a song to my "love"

There are certain songs that bring me back to loves gone by but not to a particular moment with them.
Others bring me back to a specific time with specific people.
Smell is something else. Can't tell you a particular smell but when it happens it is really powerful.

"Smile for a while, let's be jolly.
Love shouldn't be so melancholy"

Smiles everyone. Smiles.

Name that tune, name that show.

Hi, Welcome.
I have some great memories connected to songs. And some not so great. Lost loves and such.

Sometimes when I can't remember the date/year something happened...I can remember the songs that were popular and then remember the year.

SpaceRangerNJ replies on 4/23/2006 9:45 pm:
I have a lot of trouble telling what year things happened. Songs don't help, alas.
I uses major events a somewhat of a marker though. But there have been a lot of years without anything significant so they all blend together. Product of getting older I guess. The years seem to fly by.

Do you know Jack Schitt?

Jack is the only son of Awe Schitt and O. Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of
Knee-deep Schitt, Inc.
Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt and they had 6 children: Holie Schitt, The twins; Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Giva Schitt and Bull Schitt.
Jack and Noe divorced. Noe later married Mr. Sherlock and because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was known as Noe Schitt-Sherlock.
Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt and they had Chicken Schitt. Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt married the Happens
brothers in a dual ceremony.
The Schitt-Happens children are Dawg, Byrd and Horse. Bull Schitt left home to tour the world. He recently returned with his new bride, Pisa Schitt.

Hope you are doing better and that you are getting settled in.

He's a happy boy. Happy boy!
Yeah, more song lyrics.
I remember having that grin. I think I was still riding my dinosaur. Hmm has it been that long? Seems like it.

Whenever I hear the song "Never Say Goodbye" by Bon Jovi I remember hanging out in the local convienience store parking lot in High School with my best friend from back then. She now lives in Florida and I don't get to see her that often.

I have many, many songs that remind me of events in my life.

Great post!

Then there are songs that just bring up images and it's almost like you were there.

Barefoot girls sitting on the hood of a Dodge drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain.

Bruce Springstein.
