Experimenting

Hello again and thanks for joining us here at xmatch. A mini rant if I may....I posted another entry into my blog two days ago. Or so I thought. No trace of it whatsoever. Not even an email saying it was rejected. Now a microscopic rant within a rant. My last viewable post had the word a** in it without the **, and my post was rejected! I'm between uncontrollable laughter and ...huh?

Anyway. On to the reason I'm here tonight. I have noticed recently that there have been members questioning whether or not they should post a pic, why or why not, etc etc.

So, I decided to throw caution to the wind and I uploaded my pic to my profile. I got some interesting results. Now, after I started posting in the mag my profile views increased also. Combined....well in the three days my pic was up, my profile had been viewed roughly 220 times. To some this may seem an insignificant number but when compared to the 190 times I had been viewed from July to a week ago...well it's pretty astonishing to me.

Emails, views, winks, all increased. Which is great. Kind of. Obviously I'm here to meet people, be it online or in person - who knows. My reason, excuse, whatever you want to call it, for not posting a pic on my profile for every Tom and Harry Dick to see is...privacy. I am well aware of the opinions several members have on those who claim to be private people. Let me see if I can sort this out.

I am, in real life, an incredibly private person. For example, my co-workers and most family and friends didn't know I was dating a guy for 2 months until a month after it had ended. I don't keep secrets. When asked a question, I will answer fully (as you may have seen ) and honestly. I just don't volunteer information - generally. It is not in my nature to share my thoughts, feelings, opinions, insecurities with anyone. Which is part of why I enjoy this site. Being fairly annonymous has afforded me a certain amount of freedom.

As I've said before, I live in a very small, close knit community. My photo has been seen on a couple of singles sites by people I know. That's fine. I don't care if they know that I talk to people on the net. In this area, however, internet is practically considered evil. Sure, everyone has access and everyone uses it. But they tend to think that people you meet here, on the www, are wierdos, freask, geeks, wackos, perverts, so on and so forth. They forget that they too are online, and gee I wonder what their penpals think of them?

It's been my experience that if I go to the bar I still end up meeting perverts and wierdos. At least online I don't have to put on make up. Ok, I know there was point to all this....Oh yes. Posting a pic. I'll chance not being viewed as often or getting as many emails. My pic will remain hidden from the masses but available for my friends to see. And if there is anyone who doesn't like it...tough noogies, go find another profile to look at.

This site is has morphed into so many things besides people actually hooking up. Screw your neighbors. Post a pic. It doesn't have to be naked or sordid in nature. So long as it's you smiling.

If the local minister tells you he saw your pix online, ask him why the hell he was surfing the site. If he smiles, let your maker sort out the details.

Darlin, didn't you know, we are all wierdos, freaks, geeks, wackos, perverts, and so on. What those folks fail to realize is THEY ARE TOO!!!

Sorry I missed the pic......... Would like to put a face with the name.
