Intuition............

I think that so often we ignore the best way we all have of judging another person - our intuition, instinct or gut feelings (whichever you want to call it!)

I know its harder online to do this but try to read between the lines as well as what is actually written.

If something inside you is telling you that all is not well when chatting with someone then it probably isn't and you should be really careful about moving onto meeting them

Any views on this?

The good thing about being online is that once the intuition kicks in, you can leave with a keystroke

I GUESS IT'S THE ADVENTURE THAT WE ARE SEEKING THAT RUSH OF SEXUAL EXCITEMENT THAT WE FEEL WHEN YOU SEE THAT PERSON THAT ATTRACTS TO YOU, I GUESS THIS WAY WE SET OURSELVES OF FOR DISAPPOINTMENT BECAUSE WE HAVE IMAGINE OURSELVES WITH THAT PERSON FROM READIND THEIR PROFILE OF CHATTING. BUT THE QUESTION WE ASK OURSELVES IS THIS WORTH IT? ARE WE GETTING INTO TO SOMETHING DANGEROUS OR DANGEROUSLY EXCITNG. I UNDERSTAND IT SEEMS MORE OF A RISK TO LADIES, SO WHAT ARE WE AS MEN WILLING TO SACRIFICE OF OURSELVES TO MAKE YOU FEEL SAFE, ANOTHER QUESTION. BUT IF ITS WONDERFULLY EXCITING AND FULFILLING RISK JUSTIFIED.

Yes I can usually tell from chatting to someone in a room what the situation is or how it is going. It depends on there sayings and reaction to what you say. But in real life I find it difficult because *some* people blow hot and cold.

Hi -
I hate "Chats" on the IMC..period.
Everybody I've met through this service has been through direct e-mail contact.
With the IMC...I hate to get into some "type-my-thoughts-as-fast-as-I-can-game" with someone on the other end that seems very demanding for such a VAGUE individual.
Usually those people have no photos & one sentence profiles.
They are just trolling.
They aren't even looking to meet anybody - and you usually feel you wouldn't want to meet them.
They are not to be trusted.
It's gotten to the point I don't trust any STANDARD member online after 1am - in New York City & surrounding area.
It takes a lot of the potential original "fun" idea of doing this whole thing.
I've finished chats with people where I wanted the time back I'd just wasted with them.

Lady, you are right to a great extent in what you say, reading between the lines and trying to "feel" how the other person is thinking from their words and from their reaction to your words can help a great deal in making decisions about who to meet, if anyone, and where and how. That though is only the beginning because if you do meet someone you tend to know, almost instantly, if there is a chemistry there and at that point both people have to be honest enough to be able to say no if thats how they feel
