Job Interview Hell
Job Interview Hell
Tomorrow I have a job interview for an Administrative Assistant position I applied for last week. Some strange things about this:
1. The interview is being held in a meeting room at a local hotel and not at the company's office.
2. They told me I should allow TWO hours to complete the process.
Now, did you catch the position I was applying for? Not head of Homeland Security, not mayor or police chief or the person in charge of putting the next space Shuttle in the air!! It's a position to be somebody's SECRETARY.
How much more extensive than this can it be?
can you type? check
can you read? check
can you work a copy machine? check
can you use a fax? check
can you add and/or use a adding maching? check
can you string two sentences together? check check
I was panicking and wracking my brain trying to figure out what goes into a TWO hour interview. You know I was wondering if I should practice a typing test or something. Then I had a realization: I decided not to worry about it at all.
I mean, they will be lucky to have me as a member of their team AND who's to say that they'll be good enough for me to begin with?! Never mind the fact that I'm beginning to wonder if the whole thing isn't a bunch of BS to begin with. A scheme or something. Who conducts INTERVIEWS in a HOTEL?! I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
That helped shut those panic thoughts right up.
NOTHING IS GETTING ME DOWN TODAY!
I have a DATE tonight. Not a "lets get together to hook up" encounter but an honest to goodness OLD FASHIONED DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure it is in a meeting room and not one of the hotel rooms? Now there's a scam I can try ... LOL|

ok I am curious to know if you were actually applying for the Secretary to the President of the US, a congress man, someone influential? hehehehe|
Either that or you were right it was all a smoke screen to make them seem bigger then they really are and they actually operate out of the basement of their house...hahahahaha
hope it went well though, can honestly say I haven't ever been on an any interview that was 2 hours and the only time it was at a hotel was when I was applying for a maids postion at that particular hotel. Dang that was years ago hehehehe
smiles and hugs

Exactly! Now you can see why I'm a little freaked about it. I DO know that it's in a MEETING room not a HOTEL room. LOLOL As if I'm THAT stupid!!!!!!!! Come on now. That's why I'm not getting excited about it. There will probably be some big catch or something that they will snow ball me with. |
However, I am going to take additional resumes so that I can hand them out if it turns out to be a JOB FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
