I Know! I Know! I Took An Oath...Damnit.

Well, at least I feel like I took an oath.
A Blogger's Oath!!

Thou shall not make fun of others' blogs.
Thou shall not think thy own blog is better than everyone else's.
Thou shall be nice in commenting on others' blogs.
Thou shall be patient with the inexperienced ones.
Thou shall respond in kind on blogs by people who grace mine.
Thou shall rise above the bad spelling, improper grammar, run-on sentences, and lack of proper (or present) punctuation.
Thou shall not sit in a position of superiority over others' education or lack thereof.
Thou shall not make fun of other peoples' pictures.
Thou shall keep an open mind in relation to subject matter and its importance.
Thou shall give credit where credit is due.
Thou shall not be confrontational in blogs.
Thou shall be honest.
Thou shall be as precise and to-the-point in as few words as possible.
Thou shall be happy to blog.
Thou shall play nice with other ones in the blogland sandbox.
Thou shall not shake my head at some of the "most watched blogs" list and wonder why they are there.
Thou shall try to follow along as closely as possible to others' blogs as they ramble and meander along.

Don't we all feel that way or another about blogging? But there are times ... there are times when I SO BADLY want to write a comment that contains the following words pertaining directly to the blogger and her(his) blog:

stupid
idiotic
moronic
pointless
useless
hateful
ridiculous
awful

And some useful phrases I wish I could keep on speed-type:

--Why should you get laid when your attitude sucks?
--Don't you know the purpose of a blog is not to send out "come fuck me now" messages when we see those all the time in our inboxes?
--Do you really think your penis looks good in that picture?
--Quit your whining!!
--Shut up already!
--A wedding picture? Seriously? a wedding picture?
--Use your brain...that's what it's there for
--I can't believe I took the time to read this.
--Thank you for responding back to my comment but I have no idea what you just said because your writing doesn't make a damn bit of sense.
--You really hate women, don't you?
--Speak English, please.

Thank you __________ for inspiring this blog. You were good for something to me, after all.

If you follow all those rules, what is the point of blogging?

Do you have an opinion?

I do.

I will state it, even if it goes against popular sentiment.

Sometimes being honest means you say things that people don't want to hear.

That's real.

Thanks Sweetbaby, I couldn't have said it better myself.

I think even though this is blogland and you can say whatever you want to, that doesn't mean that you always should. Sometimes things like common courtesy has to win out over telling someone off or leave rude comments in your wake.

    SexyRycheBabe, you rock!

DIV, you can state your opinion without necessarily being confrontational. You can be honest without having to be brutal. You can say things people might not want to hear.

And they will be more likely to listen to you if you can do it in a positive way.
I think to some degree your points have merit.

Some people, however, need brutal honesty.

The way people are coddled on the blogs is a bit ridiculous.

I'd rather give someone the honesty in a way that makes them sit back and think, rather than treat them with kid gloves the way other people do.

They can get the gentle treatment from other people.

That's not how I am.

If they don't listen to me because I'm too rough on them, then they won't listen anyway. It will just be another excuse.

I don't post to give people validation, there is way too much of that going on here as it is.

I am real.

DIV: I think you look like the lead singer for Staind. Thanks for your comments and for visiting my blog.

Another thing, I think that the written word is often times misconstrued. I know there have been times that I have posted a comment on someone else's blog and have gone back only for the blogger to have made a rude comment in relation to my post. Like whatever it is that I said has been interpreted in another way and they thought I was being a bitch or a smart-ass or ... well, you can fill in the blank however way you want.

I'm totally down with people being real and take no offense to that when I experience it. I just don't like people that are rude or derogatory or MEAN spirited. There is a difference between being truthful and scratching someone's eyes out with it. And you have to respect the fact that; even if you don't agree with someone, think they're freakin' nuts, and should get a clue as quickly as possible; they still have a right to say whatever they want on their blogs.

I'd agree with that.

Staind is one of those "hardcore" bands, right?

DIV: You've never heard of Staind? No, I wouldn't say hardcore. I mean, I hear them on the radio all of the time so it's pretty commercial. It's just in the eyes and the lips.

No.

I don't listen to radio.

Musically, I'm all over the map, but I don't listen to anything like Staind.

Industrial is more my flow if it's rock.

Div: Download a song or two... I can't think of any for you to go and get... you can try it out and see. I'm more of a Prog. Rock Chick myself and I can tolerate them.

Ok... try these: "It's Been Awhile" or "So Far Away".
