A Peak Into the Great, Wide Beyond

Yeah... yeah... I won't even say it. Oh okay, I will. Photography by Me.

Alright, so THIS is Pedernales Falls which is like the big attraction for this one particular State Park here in the Hill Country of Texas.

Have I mentioned that our rainfall has been extremely low?

I know when people think of waterfalls they think of the kind in the tropical areas of the world. Places like Hawaii and Jamaica and the Rainforests where the water cascades down the side of a mountain before it comes to rest in pools beneath it.

That's not what we have here in Texas.

Regardless, it's still awe inspiring and maybe even more fun because you can climb all over, in, and around these Falls. The first picture I showed you ... the one that goes with this post I've Been Quiet and Exploring is part of this same area. As is the snake one. I took this one from a scenic overlook area.

A word of warning to those interested in seeing them... it's HOT out there!!!!

Those are some great falls when the river is running heavier. There is a pair of great wineries just around the corner and the second largest Monolith in the United States is nearby. A great place to rock climb and boulder.

Rock out

Very cool records of your travels! Of course, it's way too hot for this guy. Besides; we've had so much freakin rain in the NE that my yard has it's own waterfall!!!

BTW - there's only one type of snake... icky!!

Except for mine, of course!

Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...

MandS: I noticed that Texas Hills Vineyard was right down the street; and you're right, when the rainfall is heavier, the Falls really are amazing. But it was fun climbing in and around them anyway with the boys. Had it been heavier I wouldn't have risked it.

Doc: I'm 1,000,000% behind you in your assessment of snakes. I think reptiles in general are icky.
