Of religion, holidays & weather

The start of a long weekend here in Sweden. For a country that is not particularly religious, they are very religious about their Christian holidays. I was talking to a Swedish friend the other day who agreed completely and added "well if you went to the streets and asked them what the holiday was for, I bet not even 10% could name the reason for the day off"
I questioned the Swedes in my office about the holiday and asked them what they were up to:

1. Going to the summer house
2. My garden lot in the city
3. BBQ/Picnic
4. Da Vinci Code in the cinema
5. X-men in the cinema
6. Hibernate - its too windy outside

My Roman Catholic upbringing reminds me even in my atheist moments the important days of the Catholic calendar - May 25th is Ascension day when Jesus ascended to heaven following his resurrection.

Hmmm......have I committed a sin by posting this in a sex site.

On another note - Well I met up with one of my pals here recently. It was a nice day out with a good lunch and conversation. Certainly refreshing to meet someone from here without dropping my panties after saying hello.

Weather: Extremely windy and slightly cold. But sunny - maybe there is hope for the weekend?
