Claustrophobia

Another Monday ... another week started. I just want to curl up and pull the covers over my head and block out the world. ... Wait ... can't do the covers over the head. I'm very claustrophobic, and that would just be too damn much!

I first learned I was claustrophobic during a camping trip, many years ago. The RV was full of people, so I stayed in the back of a truck. We strapped a tarp over the bed to protect against rain and dew and whatever was in the trees above . Around 2AM, I awoke ... opened my eyes and it seemed like that tarp was closed around my head.

Of course, I totally freaked out. Trying to fight something that seemed like it was 2 inches from my face, when in fact, it was about 3 foot away, was horrible. I hit the person sleeping next to me quite a bit (which in and of itself was not a good thing to do). I also bruised my hands hitting the sides of the truck.

I ended up moving my sleeping bag ... actually turning it around so that my head was on the tailgate and not under the tarp. I was able to go back to sleep, but woke the next morning being really hoarse. Tents are another nightmare. Needless to say, I don't go camping much anymore.

Elevators don't bother me as long as they are moving. Grandma hides in a small closet whenever there is bad weather, because she is afraid of tornados. The girls and I were there once and she wanted me to get in the closet too. THAT is not going to happen ... EVER. If there is a tornado, it can just take me away. I would rather face that than that little closet any day.

Probably why I like being on top or doggie style so much. I can't stand someone being over me and putting their arms around my head. It closes me in and I just can't breathe .... and believe me that DOES NOT make sex any better!!

BTW ... the pic here is my Sweet Baby - Sophie
