I just finished reading "Bleachers", by John Grisham... It was a very interesting read.. Not his typical type of novel... Not about lawyers, judges or crime but about the influence of a high school football coach in a small town. The main character is Neely Crenshaw who was the best quarterback to ever play for coach Rake. Neely returns home after 15 years for the death of his coach. The story takes place in the bleachers of the high school football field where the former players of coach Rake meet to talk, tell stories and relive the glory days. Some of them love him and some of them hate him. Coach Rake was hard on his players and even harder on the ones who had potential to be professional ball players. The town worshiped coach Rake. In his 35 yrs of coaching, he molded the Spartans into an unbeatable dynasty. Neely Crenshaw, must come to terms with his feelings and understanding of coach Rake and he begins to see a whole other side of him as he talks with the other players. His players either loved him or hated him... the ones who hate coach Rake were the players who were ridden the hardest. The coach saw the potential that they had and pushed them to be better players and men. The ones who loved the coach saw the softer side of him... they were the ones who he helped through some difficult times in their lives.
This book got me to thinking about the people in my life who have influenced me and who have molded me into who I am today. No matter who we are, we influence the people around us everyday. From the people we have known all our lives to the stranger we might bump into on the street. We cause some sort of influence on them.. Smile at someone you don't know, say hi and they might have a better day. Tell a perfect stranger to fuck off and he's pissed of for the rest of the day.. and the people they bump into will be influenced by the temperament they are in as well. One large chain reaction.

Yes Rogue I understand how that happens have had it happen to me recently. All the people around you can affect your moods and how you react to other situations. The influence of others is very complicated sometimes.
