Let sleeping dogs lie

It looks uncomfortable at first, the wya Lizzie has contorted her 2 foot high frame. Her hind legs are splayed, lolling to the left. Her exposed white belly which begs to be scratched, moves gently up and down as she breathes. Her torso is twisted to the right. The tiny paws held close to her face as though she were begging for something. I chuckle quietly as it twitches in her sleep. "Must be good doggy dreams." I think aloud. Her upper lip curves although she can hear me in her sleep and it looks faintly like a smile. Her ear flicks back and forth as if it were preventing an imaginary fly from closing in. Suddenly, and without warning she turns and shakes her head, her tags clinking like wine glasses. Her sleepy eyes open as if to say, "What?" Her nose and whiskers move in anticipation. "Ready for a walk?" Her ears perk, her head cocks, and her tail begins to wag furiously. There goes that nap.
