Did you know?

Monday is National "Without Latinos" Day.

It's true! Latinos from all across the country are taking the day off of work, not spending their money, and not being productive. I guess it's kinda to prove that the Latinos of the USA make up a larger portion of Americans than we thought. There is even a national protest or rally or something going on in D.C. Hey I wish they had a National "Without Irish" or "Without Dutch" Day, shit, I'd be the first one on those lists!

I wonder how much money America would lose on Monday if every Latino in the US didn't do jack shit?

Anyone wanna hazard a guess? I won't, I don't have a fuckin' clue...

I don't know how much money we'd lose either. Being associated with a business, having insights to the back office I can say this: I'd rather do business with Latinos than many Caucasians. As a general rule, Latinos do not believe in checking accounts (there are exceptions to every rule) thus they always pay cash.

A car dealer friend of mine agrees - they want to buy a vehicle, they show up with the proverbial "wad that will choke a horse" of cash.

Checks bounce - I've done it myself, made it right immediately, paid the horrid over-draft fee - and some don't care. My former niece-in-law didn't care about checks bouncing higher then errant tennis balls.

Oh well, I partially digress - Red asked about money... didn't she?

I had a house in Atlanta. They were stil building in the subdivision. Someone from INS moved in and parked the van in the driveway. The builder couldn't get any framers to come to work. He ended up building the guy an outbuilding for free so he could move stuff and get the van parked in the garage. All was well with the universe (until the helicopters came...)
