The Severing of Family Ties

Originally posted: 10/1/05

Well, my brother and I had it out tonight.

We have been fighting for awhile. Not about my transsexuality, but about money.

I hit a tight spot financially awhile back, and my brother lent me money to get out of it. Now, he wants it back, and I can't afford to give it to him.

I have the intention of giving it back. I just don't know when. As soon as possible is the plan.

So, we're not speaking to each other right now. In fact, once our lease expires in May, we have agreed that we are no longer related. I won't speak to him, and he won't speak to me.

That's fine. All he ever does is bitch about work anyways. I don't want to listen to it anymore.

I've never really liked my brother. He's always been kind of an uptight asshole.

Frankly, after May 31st, if I never see him again for the rest of my life, I'll be happy. I don't need his negativity.

Some of you may think that what I'm saying is terrible. Frankly, I don't care. I can deal with never seeing him again. I hate spending time with him anyways.

Hugs and kisses

Jennifer

Jennifer,

I'm glad I came across yor post. I totally appreciate & understand how you feel, my siblings basically betrayed me in the one area of my life that mattered most to me and although I no longer "hate" them which I once did, I am now indifferent to them. If anyone be it family or friend consistently is negative, betrays trust, is demanding rather compassionate in situations beyond your control then you are better off without the negative influence.

Don't feel bad simply because "society" says we should have certain "types" of feelings for our siblings. Since when has society been right anyway? You're the only one who knows how your mind & heart feels around certain people & if it happens to be a sibling that makes you feel unhappy, frustrated or angry....you're doing the right thing by doing what is best for you!

Trust me, I know.......be true to your heart.
