What's in a name?

Quite a lot, for me, and if your handle here includes pussy/69/fuck/bitch/lick/up4it/horny/sexy/oral/cock/cum/naughty/hot/hard/slut/squirt yadda yadda yadda then don't contact me or speak to me in chat because I'll know before you bother that you're going to bore the fuck out of me. And/or that you have some kind of personality disorder.

I like names that give an idea of someone, and the same goes for profiles. If you use the generic AdultFriendFinder profile, you might as well have not bothered as if you're too bloody lazy to tell someone about yourself then you don't deserve to get any interest. And if your profile is full of bullshit, I'll know immediately so it doesn't pay to fake it. Photos too..if you want to flash your bits, fine, but wait until someone asks to see them instead of assuming they want to.

Chat's good, because when you see posts, you know what someone's really like. (
Puke pink is offputting at this point, as is gag me green). I've got a select few genuine friends here that I trust and talk to, because I got to know them that way over the years. I don't miss a trick and if someone is faking, I spot it. If you can't be yourself, you're no good to me.

Nearly forgot. Please...don't call me hun or babe.

Unless your will's up to date.

I agree, some of the names I see make me whince; something with a sense of humour rather than overtly in-your-face sexual is much better. Your name is the first (or second, if you have a picture) thing people will see about you and if it gives the wrong impression, it may be the last thing too!

I have to admit, I don't know what "Queen of Wands" means though, but then "Haversack Smith" doesn't mean anything either, because my name isn't "Smith". Or "Haversack". It's just something I chose because it sounded like it could be a name, even though it isn't.

A lot of profiles out there are content-light - "Hey I'm single/married and I'm horny, I like oral, get in touch with me! Ideal person: Talk dark handsome and likes to spoil women, must love oral." And this tells me... what? If I wanted to write to that person, what would I say? "Hi, I saw your profile, and thought I'd write to try to find out something about you because your profile tells me buggerall." I find it incredibly frustrating, and is a large part of why I so rarely see someone's profile and contact them - because their profile doesn't inspire me to do so. And the generic pre-written profiles are just awful too; you've seen one you've seen them all, and none of them give any insight into the true person behind the words.
