A thing of beauty..

..is a joy 'til daylight.

I'm more into what someone is than the body they inhabit. I'm not visually immune and I've got my preferences like anyone else but for me, it's the amalgam that makes it.

One of my oldest female friends, a highly respected professional, has always peopled her private life with eyecandy barely capable of constructing a sentence. I struggle to find a thing to say to them as they look panicky at the slightest sign of intelligence. I'm not joking, conversation totally creaks. She's of the opinion that they look good and that's enough; I bite my lip and avoid.

Smarts go a long way..people who can communicate, aren't afraid to explore, people who don't hide from life. Add to that a surreal sense of humour, a care for other living things, and a complete lack of interest in powerbasing and that's a winning formula in my eyes. If all that came wrapped in a less than Adonic exterior, it wouldn't worry me.

I like to think I can see well below the surface.

To really find the beauty of a person, if the gift to look within.
Some have it and some don't.
Seems that you have the gift.

I agree with what you say - I wish I had the knack though

I couldn't agree more. It's the personality that's attractive - the moments when you see someone's personality through their body, the way they move or the expression on their face, are the sexiest moments of all.

Thanks Maggies and Chris, it's something you can work on. I began to learn when I realised way back when that it's better to have good friends, one love, and contentment, than a stadiumful of people I barely knew and didn't have the momentum to get to know. Closeness isn't a numbers game.
