A poetic kadigan

I'm away to Europe tomorrow, so to keep this blog ticking in my absence, something to ponder:

I understand how complicated this all is,
but listen, we should have become enemies.
Why must you be a bird,
a stone in a ragged dress,
why must you smile like lightning?

The world is not enough for you,
too much for you. Do you dream
of bright rooms with fresh flowers
and melon chunks, do you stand
tilted and nude behind the sheer
lace curtain of life, are you burning
like a peat moss bog in August?

Ah..you thought I'd be the type
to forget. But these rickets
have lashed into shadows
and your bare arm splashed
by charmed waters. When I close
my eyes I see the fairie's ink wings

on your back running, running.

Enjoy your trip.

I'm not sure what to make of your poem, but then poetry has never been my strongest suit.

Not mine, was penned by a friend of mine

As to interpretation..who knows? I know what I make of it - shadows and reflections. I'm not one for killing jars, far too reductive.
