Because you asked for it ...

... here I am in my cycling shorts.

I discovered another problem when I washed them: they're lint magnets.

Direct from the package they came in:

"Andiamo! Men's Padded Skins ... convert any shorts or trousers into comfortable, protective cycling wear.

"Our innovative one-piece crotch design features no seams or excess fabric in crotch area; all seams are flatstitched for comfort. This chafe-free padded liner delivers support, too.

"Our five-layer, seamless padded crotch is open-celled foam bonded to polyester terry and tricot. Enveloped in wicking fabric, this padding equals that of regular cycling shorts.

"Garment should be snug."

At least they got that last statement right.

Sorry Pills, as a lowly "standard" member, I can't see your pic or else I don't know how to do it. I bet you look better than you think you do.

You n Berri are so motivated. It's just kidding. I admire what y'all do.

Personally, I had been having a year long pity party for myself. I didn't invite anyone else to the party for fear of dragging the lot down with me. Hopefully that's over and 26 Aug I joined a small local gym, went back on my diet and got my diabetes under some control.

The bad news is I have been working my tail off and had only lost 10 lbs as of the end of Sept...grrrr!

The point in telling you this, is to let you know you and Berri have been very inspiring to me and I wanted to thank you.

Wow..thank you Purloynd. Your words have been an encouragement tonight. I really needed them. HUGS

AND WOW congratulations on that 10 pounds!!! My motto from now on is "if it's only a pound a month, at least I will be losing and not gaining", so hang in there...fat is stubborn and I fight the battle all the time..but eventually..IM GONNA WIN!

Keep working that tail off and one day you will look in the mirror and I bet it will be a lot smaller

Oh, by the way, PCB, that pic looks like one of those unisex manikins in the store window. ARE YOU SURE THAT's YOU?

I have seen a pic of you in jeans...I can't believe you scrunched all that "manly stuff" in that contraption you are wearing..lmao

I'm being spank me if you can catch me...ROFL

Hey, Purloynd, 10 pounds between August 26 and the end of September isn't bad! That would be around 2.5 pounds a week, which is a good rate. Yes, it's slow going, but you don't want to lose weight too quickly; your body has nasty ways of letting you know it doesn't like that.

Don't get too focused on numbers; just focus on feeling better and getting your diabetes under control, and the weight will eventually take care of itself. Hang in there!

Thanks for the compliments. Glad you enjoy the blog.

I have never in my life seen cycling shorts like that.
You're pulling our leg, right?

Not pulling your leg, jayR, I swear. Although these things are certainly constricting mine.

"Enveloped in wicking fabric...."

It's like poetry.

They don't look at all comfortable darling and you'll never be able to father any more children if you keep wearing them. Throw them in the bin, terry and trichot (!) and all. Your bits deserve better.
