Whoof Whoof, Meow!

Song of the day: Who let the dogs out ‒ Baja Men
& Cat Scratch Fever ‒ Ted Nugent

Which are you a dog person or a cat person?

Funny how cats are associated with women. Well we know what the street name for female genitalia is, so the cat reference is reinforced. Cats are unpredictable, you never know if they are going to cuddle and purr, or bite and scratch. You could be on your way to the shower, and you barefoot is attacked by a hit and run ambush attack. Some times when you come home a friendly meow greets you, other times you find shredded stuff all over the floor. A hint I done something wrong? Calling a woman “catty” is only mildly insulting at best. The female cat is called a queen, not insulting at all. A male is a Tom, not insulting either.

Dogs are generally associated with guys. I guy buddy will call me and say “what up dog?” I have never met a women do did not say “men are dogs” sometimes pigs, but often dogs as well. Dog nature is more predictable. Typically a dog will growl and fuss before the attack A dog is very happy to go nowhere for no reason at all. Dogs are just happy to be doing something. A dog will also interact with you. Playing ball with a cat is all about the cat. A dog will retrieve objects, bark at strangers. The male dog is called a dog, but the female dog is called, drum roll please, a BITCH! Again the reference to why many women do not associate to dogs in “pop culture.” Wife did not seem to appreciate when I would walk with my dog and her, and tell guys, see my bitch. Once a woman walked by and said “Nice Dog” and stressed the dawg, I though Bekka and her were going to have a fistfight, the looks exchanged were not friendly. Oh what a bitch, (sorry could not resist).

Of course I have know many dog women. They are often proud of the title “bitch.” They say you can’t trust a cat, they are looking at you like they are sizing you up. These girl buddies preferred guy buddies over other female friends. They claimed guys are more upfront and are better friends, where a female is looking to backstab you. They were “tom boyish” ladies as well. Makes me think Tomboy, Tomcat? Coincidence?

My last dog was female, and she would challenge wifey. She would try and put herself as the number one female in the pack. Wifey would have to really put her foot down and remind pooch who was alpha female. Pup would listen to me first time, Bekka would repeat commands, and the dog just looked at her. Usually rolling the dog onto her back, the natural doggie submissive position, would remind puppy who was bigger and stronger with out hitting. The cat could care less who was male or female. As long as the cat got food water and playtime, he/she never cared who was home.

Personally I am both a dog and cat person, I do like both. Luckily have had dogs and cats that got along well together. I would like to say having dog and cat running up and down the hall and jumping on me in the middle of the night got me ready for kids. Kids find new and better ways to drive me crazy, and they team up with the dog and cat. It is a conspiracy!

I am both I suppose. I don't think that I have ever had a person tell me ...oh you are a cat person or a dog person...but I believe I am both.
Very interesting post.

P&S- I'm definitely a dog person! I don't dislike cats, but I am very allergic. However, I don't think I'm "bitchy"... well, maybe sometimes. lol

I was somewhat of a tomboy growing up. And, I have more guy friends than girl friends (but I still have alot of them, too). I think it's because I can be one of 'the guys'. Don't get me wrong, I'm a girlie girl in alot of ways, too. But, I am not the least bit high maintenace!

Actually, I'm an 'all-around' animal lover! I adore all of them!!! I guess I'm just a big softy!

It's funny how you hit the nail right on the head with this post! lol Good job!!

Mr Red Here - I am allergic to cats and I am for sure a dog person! Wifey is a cat person; we had to let our pets go to other homes when we made the move to Boise. I miss them but don't miss the mess. The cat we had for 8 years I had trained over long periods of time, he was more "canine" then most cats. I could get him to come when called, and he reacted when verbally scolded (I made a hissing cat noise).

I love all animals, mostly for their complete innocence and ability to always be who they are; they are unable to be anything they're not. I want to publicly thank my cat, Bubbles, for being the only girl to still cuddle with me every night and every morning since my divorce. I know she'll never even think of leaving me (well, as long as I keep feeding her! hehe) and I can only hope that in the next life, both of us can be human, so I can properly express to her how grateful I am for her unconditional love.

(as a side note, mostly because I've gotten ignorant comments in the past, NO...I'm not into beastiality).....

I gre up with cats...so I guess I am partial to them. Can't have them now as the man of th house is very allergic. We do have a dog and she is a sweetie. But she does compete with me for my mans affection. I swear when he pets her she stares me down and snickers when I walk by! Yeah , she is a BITCH! LOl

Mandy, Goddessofbitches, I love that, great handle! Being a dog and cat person is the best of both worlds.

I never met anyone with cat phobia, wow. I understand how you would be a dog person by default. How are you with Fish?

Who let the dogs out? Whoof whoof

My best running partner was my dog, everymorning and everynight a nice 3 to 5 K run.. Dang Ineed to get back in that type of shape!

I knew you would be a dog person, and have a lot of regular guy buddies. I never doubted you feminity.

Mr Red:
Allergic to cats, so no trips to the cat house? Ahha j/k

True animals are very honest! Good point I have forgotten that!

That is ok, will still like you even thou you are a cat person =^..^= meow!
