Those good times-Life is short.

Song of the day 100years-Five for Fighting

When you think back to the best times of your life what do you remember? Perfect weather? A lot of money? Every light was green? Remember those people with you at that time? I bet you can see their faces as clear as if they were standing there right now.

It seems the common thread of those best times was a connection with people. You gave and helped someone and it made a difference. Someone came to your aid, and made a difference for you with out making you feel like less of a person. People came together, and you could carry a conversation with just a look. Those people who gave you meaning, gave you dignity, a sense of purpose. Even if your connection was not as important as those experienced by soldiers or firefighters, it is still that time in your life that you always have with you. That rare instance when someone intimate or not is always a part of who you are. Those people that if they called right now you would return to that place and time in your mind, and you mood lifts just because they are around you.

After a crappy day, I figured it was time to take control back, and return to the positive place I call life. Hopefully those memories help you regain perspective, and return you to your smiling self. Play your favorite song, relive your favorite adventure, or go punch a punching bag. Even better if you have the good fortune of that best time of your life person right next to you, reminding you that you are far from beaten.

Maybe with luck and persistence many of us here will have another great connection, and improve fun and happiness for all. One of those things we will think about when we are 98, and sitting on a porch remembering all those sensations, those pleasant memories, with a big smile. Some young, hot, whippersnapper will ask why you smiling old-timer? HAHAH if the youngster only knew!

Have a great day

Beautifully put. It is the interconnections between souls that make life worth living, and sometimes the only thing that makes life bearable.

We just had a thunderstorm and now the sun is shining again. I am off to sit on the muddy banks of the Yadkin River and catch me a carp or a catfish or two. I hope everyone enjoys this day like I know I will.

Y'know, that's one of my favorite songs. There's not much I like on the radio nowadays, but I love that one.

Let me drive. I like the view
