Song of the day: You’re so Vain ‒ Carley Simon

After reading that PatnSam patsam69 got “Turbo Manned” as did many others such as hourglasses and our local friends bigredeatsbush with the same cut and pasted reply wanting to “drill” a woman or women, or any woman, any one at all, maybe. Most ladies think you drill for oil, drill a board to make a shelf, or drill for water. Drilling them does not make their heart race, and body flush. As everyone who read it, and discovered it was posted all over the blogs, this was not complimentary at all, actually left a feeling of utter disgust, maybe nausea.

I got to thinking on the reverse, what were some of the most complimentary things other people have said to you? Those that do more than warm fuzzy, but make you think about who you are, and how you live. Of course these types of compliments come from people of a status you respect. They are few and far between, but often are life changing. I am sure police, firefighter, and medical people get the “ I would not be here if it were not for you!” To make a difference is why many of us choose our line of work. I am talking out of the blue compliments that are sincere and just make you go YES!

Here are some of the greatest compliments I ever received.

Knew this lady, not romantically she was a girl buddy, I think she was a Lez, but she would not admit it. She was so chosey about guys I did question her preference. I used to hang around with these athletic guys, they were big like football linemen, and most were in HS and Jr College. One time at a pizza place we all got hit on by these ladies, way cool. Anyways later when my girl buddy was razzing me about it, I asked why did I get hit on as well, those other guys are far bigger than I. She said well you carry yourself like a much bigger guy, with your confidence and wit, most women would not see the difference. Wow! That was more flattering than being hit on, which does not happen that often. She did give the “if you were single” look, but even if I was she was a total bitch, my good friend at the time but damn she is mean!

The “Grumpy Professor” told me that my unique point of view would serve me well. He was glad to have met me, and had me in his class. This professor hated everybody, I mean everybody. I only got a C for letter grade, but hit the lottery as far as I was concerned. When he asked to see me after class I figured I was taking this class next semester!

My supervisor, who said he never gives out written commendations, gave me two of them.

Considered the “silly PE major” in a business management class, I was the last one picked to be on a project team for the semester. Like the nerdy guy being the last one called for the baseball team, in reverse this time, class was full of obese folks, Hahaha. I remember arguing, throwing up my hands, and them doing the same at me, meaning the team and I did not get along. I am used to being an outcast. Anyways the final project was to write an evaluation and guidelines for team management for 20% of the course grade. I wonder who was lead on this project, and well gee whose paper/project got the only perfect score of the year? Damn this is my favorite! When I saw that 50 out of 50 points, woo hoo!

Another Big compliment was when a real live human woman said she would marry me. Ooops I bet I should say this is my favorite?

The school said one of the big reasons my son is succeeding is his home environment. Someone with my DNA is in an accelerated class? Must be mom’s side J

The only way I can pay back these kind sentiments is to be the best person I can, and carry on what these others have sincerely thought of me.

What are some of the big life changing, feel good for the rest of your life compliments you got??

Do share!

Take care, and let those around you know how much you appreciate them!

a hug with heart felt tears

one woman that i was acquainted with ( not romantically or sexually ) wanted to name her new born son after me

I think we did this on someone else's blog, but I'll do a re-run.
Best compliment from a man - "You are the most complete woman I know."
Best compliment from a friend (told to me by a third person) - "It doesn't matter how many friends I have, as long as I have one (my name here)"
Best implied compliment - my Hawaiian friends and neighbors complaining about haoles (caucasians/outsiders) around me and totally forgetting that I am one.
Best compliment I ever gave (according to recipient) - when I was in high school, I told my mother that, although I loved everyone in my family, she was one of the few that I really, really liked.

Yeah, I'm still [blog 1hotwahine]

Wow, P&S! You've received some wonderful compliments! I'm impressed! But, I'm not the least bit surprised! You're an amazing person!

I've gotten some really great compliments, too. Not quite like the ones you've gotten, though.

I've been told by several people that I am a very (emotionally) strong person. After all of the obstacles I've overcome, I'm still a positive person & I try to see the best in people.

My mom has given me one of the best compliments I've ever received. She has told me that she is very proud of me for the things I've accomplished. She also told me that she knows I will make an incredible mother someday. She believes that I was put here on Earth to be a role model. That really means alot to me since I think SHE is the best!

I know, these aren't like the compliments you are referring to, but they still meant the world to me!!!

I did a project in college that recieved nationwide notability. Actually the project was an utter failure, but I still recieved mass compliments for my "determination", "initiative", and other nice words. I am in the business of fixing things when they break, usually compliments come from the repair.
Probably not exactly what you were asking about. On a personal level, the circle of people I hang with just don't hand out personal compliments (i.e. your cute, sexy, I would marry you) for one thing, I work with nothing but other men. Probably how I ended up here at AdultFriendFinder! I suppose one of the best ones I've gotten in recent years was from my mother telling how proud she was of how I have raised my kids (in spite of how I was raised )

P N S...congrats on all of your wonderful compliments.

It is a compliment to me when I show up in your blog!

I receive a great compliment every night when my 6 year old son goes to bed and every morning when he gets on the bus....he say to me..."you are the best Mom in the world and I love you and I like you so much." Can't get any better than that!
