Praying Mantis

I found a Praying Mantis in our house earlier, they are so cute!

It looked as if it was cleaning its face with its two front legs like a cat does! Too cute!

But I'm sure I heard somewhere that if you find a Praying Mantis inside its bad luck! And we've found 3 in the past 2 days

I absolutely hate them creatures.
Once upon a time I use to think they were cute.
I lived in this small town and one night there was like a swarm of them on the streets. It was like damn locus.
I didn't know they bit or stung. But my friend got it by one of them bastards and was sick for days.

One here and there is fine, but when you get stuck in a storm of them, it leaves a impression on you trust me. Now I am a crying bag of tears if I come across one... sad huh..

Accept the prayers they offered, with gladness in your heart.
The fact that you never see more than one at a time is a good sign.

love long and prosper

as far as i'm concerned they are good luck.

in south africa, the group of people known as the khoisan (or derogatorly bushmen or hottentots), worship the a trickster god, "/Kaggen" who often appears in the form of a praying mantis (the /K is pronounced as a clicking noise). the khoisan are now believed to be the original humans, as it is believed that human life began in southern Africa, and they are the region's first people (they are not related to the "black" groups which now dominate the region and have almost been annihilated by invasions of "black" colonists from the rest of Africa who arrived in about 1200 and european colonists who arrived from the 1400s onwards).
