Race for More Time

This weekend is dragging...

I finished with my girlfriend last weekend and have no interest in replacing her. Makes for quite a quiet life, but the upside is I am saving on mobile-phone costs and fuel.

Highlight of the weekend is a 5km fun-run through the city-centre this evening, to raise money for AIDS/HIV research and care.

I do this run, the Komen (Breast cancer) 'Race for the Cure' and also the 'Race against Forgetfulness' in aid of Alzheimers research/care each year. They all happen within one month of each other, starting today.

I'm a bit of a loner, but I feel useful part of the World and when I sweat for the right causes. People cheering at the side of the road don't care about my personality, they just accept me for doing what I do.

My maternal grandmother died of breast cancer and my father is starting to subtley slip into dementia after having 'mini-strokes' for the last 15 years.

Stop Press - The weather was cool and damp (perfect). I did the 5km in 23:20.
