When Punks Go Domestic

Right across the street from us, a couple of punks (or goths, I've never been very clueful on the distinctions between most subcultures) bought a house a few years ago. It has been pretty entertaining watching them go about the daily expectations of home ownership.

She is the one who mows the lawn. I think that the best lawnmowing outfit I've seen was the schoolgirl plaid skirt, white blouse, fishnet stockings and big knee boots with lots of buckles.

The house is gray, with very cute blue trim. Today, they planted some bushes in front, taking out the grass on the very hard to mow slope down to the sidewalk. (We did the same.)

I just wonder if they're ashamed to bring their friends over.

Well, if we're talking just the shoes, I thought that the platforms I've seen her mow in were even less practical.

Still, I must admit, she's very attractive in these outfits, even with the blue hair. Let it never be said that she allows function to dictate fashion.

That was not a goth chick.

I have never seen a goth chick do actual physical work.

She must have been a punk chick with a fetish for goth wear.

Was she pale?

That would go a long way in making a positive determination.

Very pale. I've never seen either a goth chick, nor a punk chick, mow a lawn. This is why I am so confused. Someone is clearly breaking boundries, and that has left me unable to pin a label upon her.
