It Could Happen to You

And now our bodies are oh so close and tight
It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
C'mon! Hold on tight!
C'mon! Hold on tight!
Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light

Paradise by the Dashboard Light/Meatloaf

And it seemed like such a good idea. Going to the drive-in..yes there are a few still standing, at least out here in the great midwest.
Who cares what movie is playing..there is another kind of playing on our minds..and I had the foresight to bring the car with the big bench front seat..
Only a couple of other cars nearby..things are looking good.
The lights go down, the movie starts, and with the soundtrack blaring no one can hear..
One kiss leads to another, hands begin to stray, clothing in in the hell did I ever get a bra strap unhooked with one hand?
Hands busily moving now, low moans and a sharp intake of breath...
And deer in the headlights, we find ourselves spotlighted as a HUGE pickup pulls in just a couple of spaces away..WHAT THE FUCK?
As we scramble to least a little..a farce on a grand scale begins to unfold..
The doors to the truck pop open, and like a clown car in a amazing number of folks emerge from inside..
Young, old, women, men, kids..talking and screeching..just carrying on like no one else was around..
While one platoon headed for the snack bar, the rest began to set up their base camp.
Coolers and chairs appeared from the bed of the truck, and Uncle Ned and Auntie Minna began arranging chairs all around the truck like they were preparing for a moon-lit tailgate party..they had everything but the grill..
All the while, we felt the eyes of this multitude wash across us as we tried to gather our clothes and try to regain some semblance of composure, of dignity..without much success..
Like so many before us..we had just experienced Driveinus Interruptus,a condition that had been nearly eradicated by the clearing of drive-ins from the landscape. It continues to be found in those areas where drive-ins are allowed to flourish unchecked..and where people are daring (or crazy) enough to venture out to play in public.
Like others who fall victim to this rare, but virulent condition, we could only start the car, turn on the parking lights, and creep on out of the drive-in..passion suppressed, desire seemed like such a good idea.

I remember those drivein days! Although in St. Louis we used to go to the PVA (public viewing area) of the airport. Same concept though...too many people. I like the idea of secluded parks...

Hi Loveme:
I've been to the PVA..but only to watch the airplanes..pretty boring stuff, but I was a kid with my parents when we visited St. Louis.
Interesting idea with the secluded park though..

What a great trip down memory lane. I miss those drive ins. But when I can get to Ohio in the summer....there are still a few. The only difference is that I'm usually taking my grandson with me! lol Thanks for a wonderful post!

Thanks Angel..don't worry about your grandson..they always fall asleep early. Just make sure they get something to eat, and a soft place to fall asleep..Then you will be free to play..

A few years ago (Like 20 or so) a young lady named SC and I had much the same experence. After a bit of thought we came back around noon the next day. The sun was shining and the place was totaly deserted. We had sex in the truck. I still treasure the images in my head. She is native american. Her body was so brown, her hair so black and her pussy so pink. We both had both know exaclty why we were comming back.
