Ours was great. Spent all day at home and took NB to turn in an application for work and then we went to Taco Bell for Dinner. They had a special going on that if you bought a combo meal, you would receive a free ticket to Peoria Chiefs Baseball game that day. So we ordered our food. NB had 2 hard and 1 soft shell taco and a drink. I had 2 soft 1 hard taco and after we were done I got an order of Cinnamon Twists. They were warm but didn't satisfy my craving I still had. So I told NB I wanted another taco but wasn't going to pay for for it. She had a puzzled look on her face and then I explained that the taco I wanted was Pink. It was the tastiest of the 4 I ate too.So with a full belly , we headed to the game and down to the Riverfront afterwards for some spectacular Fireworks. A most rememorable day and night.

Personally, my mood could be viewed as shocked.

Shocked but not surprised that Germany lost to Italy last night.

Disappointed to say the least, but hey, life goes on.

They say a woman ages like fine wine...

Didn't see the match Glimmer but if Italy and Portugal play, there will be hardly any of the team standing up. Whenever I have watched either team play, they both seem to be pretty good at diving tactics !

But isn't that the beauty of soccer? All the diving and hard charging play?

After a VERY boring day at work, I saw a spectacular fireworks display presented as a backdrop to some patriotic music by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. I still get a rush listening to America the Beautiful, Battle Hymn of the Republic and Stars and Stripes Forever.

But what really got my blood boiling was watching a couple of citizens
sit on their blanket while everyone around them stood during the Star Spangled Banner. Made me want to jerk them up and shake them.

Nightguy_1961 replies on 7/6/2006 2:44 am:
I see that type of behaviour all the time nowadays.

There is a place on Ocracoke Island where some British sailors who washed ashore after a U-boat attack are buried. The British government sends a Union Jack flag for the cemetary whenever the one present starts to fade. So it is a tiny bit of England here in the US.

When I took my lady to visit, there were a couple of bikers, plus a group of gawking tourists. When I and the bikers walked into the cemetary, we removed our hats as a sign of respect for those fallen sailors. The tourists, who were senior citizens and should have known better, kept running their mouths, the men not even attempting to remove their hats.

Finally, one of the bikers stepped up and quietly asked them to show respect while in 'such a place of honor'.

The tourists left in a huff....

Glad you had a great fourth...thanks...

I wanted a rather quiet evening looking at fireworks from a car, but instead got to go with a whole bunch of friends to set off our own. After drinking Jaegerbombs (Red Bull in a glass with one glass shot of Jaeger dropped in right before you drink the whole thiing, yum) and then shots of jaeger, whisky, a blunt and some cinnamon stuff with gold... we sat and watched the displays from three distant larger fireworks extravaganza as we lit our own on the street as all the neighbors did theirs. I still have some sparklers, mini fountains and snakes left if anyone wants some? =)

Got asked to work late for the 4th, and three others got sent home early. Went to a job interview, and sat there 15 minutes before someone came out and told me the mgr. hired someone. I only need 20 hours a week to buy a home. One of these days I'll explaine all the dirty details of where we live. Dirty is not fun in this case. Oh, sorry about the joke thing. I think I realized it is someone that does not understand your lifestyle, but makes fun of you for it. I'll kick his ass if you want.

We'll leave the light on for you.

Nightguy_1961 replies on 7/6/2006 2:51 am:
Good luck with getting your home.....I know how that goes...

don't worry about the joke, I wasn't offended. I just wasn't in good humour that day, nothing more....

Pretty quiet here, we stayed in air conditioning most of the weekend. We did enjoy watching a bunch of illegal fireworks some neighbors set off! ( the kind that shoot straight up and explode into a big spray of colors). Illegal here in NC...unless you have a permit. Hope yours was a good one!

Nightguy_1961 replies on 7/6/2006 2:52 am:
They're illegal here in VA as well...glad you had a good one, though...

Had a very relaxing 4th...sat on my deck with a good book, had a couple glasses of wine, wrote in my jouranal and then as evening approached settled down in my loft and watched a spectacular fireworks display through my sky lights. It was just what I needed!

Hope your rid of that little guy with the sledgehammer. Say hi to your Lady for me.
