An apology to someone I've hurt by mistake.

I am a big fan of legends/stories of the Old West. One of my heroes from that era was the legendary gunman William Hickock, aka Wild Bill Hickock. Wild Bill wasn't just fast, he was sudden. He once shot a man in the heart who was shooting at him...from almost 100 yards. Think about it....hitting a target the size of your fist from almost a football field away.

Wild Bill worked as a lawman in several rough towns in the West. One documented incident said that Wild Bill was going down the street to handle some rowdies causing trouble. When they fired upon him, he returned fire; taking out the bad guys.

Suddenly, he heard a gun click behind him. Turning and firing in a heartbeat, he dropped his target with one shot. To his horror & regret, he gunned down his deputy who had come to his assistance. Wild Bill quit as town marshall and drifted from that point on. It wasn't long afterwards that he met his fate in Deadwood, SD.

I feel I've done like Wild Bill. I reacted too quick in an online situation...and now, I fear I've hurt someone. I've hurt them badly.

I curse my temper...sometimes I tend to draw and fire...before I know what my target really is.

I humbly & sincerely apologize to my friend...and to anyone else I may have hurt. If this person never wants to talk to me again, I completely understand. It is my mistake...and I have to live with the consequences of 'drawing and firing' before finding out what happened.

Maybe I deserve to be caught from behind with 'aces & eights' in my hand...just like Wild Bill. It's what I deserve....nothing more, nothing less.

NG61...offering a single red rose tied in black silk ribbon, stained with a an apology from the heart.

Sorry to read that you and others are having a bumpy day. I feel terrible when I've inadvertantly hurt feelings. From your post and what I know of you I'm sure that you do too.

Friends understand - true friends will talk it through - whatever it is - and they will understand and move forward in a positive direction.

Whisper... (((Huggs to you and your friends)))

Thanks...I just hope my friend is even willing to talk to me. I wouldn't blame them if they didn't, to be perfectly honest.

I cannot imagine that you would hurt anyone intentionally. Your apology is beautiful.

... the only thing which comes to mind is a scene from one of my most favorite movies... 'Pretty Woman'... in which Julia Roberts and Richard Gere are standing in the outter hallway of the penthouse, in front of the elevator... neither have any shoes on... and Julia's arms are full of the beautiful things Richard has bought her. Her old, worn purse is slung on her shoulder. He stands near her for a moment... she wishes the elevator would hurry to reach her. He offers a heartfelt apology... she looks him square in the eye... and quietly says, 'you hurt me'... he responds, 'yes' ... then she barely whispers, 'don't do it again'. She then declines the elevator once it opens... he opens his hand to her to help carry her things... she passes a few to him. He waits for her to pass... and he follows her back into the beautiful spacious penthouse.

*opening my arms to offer you a warm hug... (big enough for your lady as well)... emotions raw.

If only real life could be like the movies sometimes...if you messed up a scene, you could redo it...and get it right.

*accepts the hug....even though he feels he doesn't deserve it*

I hope that the person reads this and accepts your apology... I know that things in the cyber world can sometimes be taken the wrong way.
