Hope everyone is well.
Just general notes and updates:
--I GOT MY INTERNSHIP!! Actually, I've been given a couple, so I have options to choose from. Both are with the MD State government. Both are for the whole summer. I can only pick one, of course.
One is closer to my overall career goals and sounds more peronally and spiritually rewarding. So of course, it pays significantly less then the other one, which isn't related to my long term plans. Its literally the difference of a thousand bucks more for the same period of work (3 months), so its not a difference to sneeze at.
With that said, I'm going aggressively after the first one: money is always nice, but I need to wake up and be able to --look forward-- to my day. I've worked enough bad jobs in my life so that I wouldn't wish it on anyone, particularly ME.
--School is winding down for this semester. Thank God I graduate in December. I won't be able to take Chinese next semester cause of scheduling, though I will start Hindi. I figure 3 years of Japanese, 1 year of Chinese and a semester of Hindi looks decent enough on any resume.
--Things still relatively quiet here on AdultFriendFinder. I've gone through active periods where I have discussions going on with a couple of females at once, and then quiet periods like now where not much goes on besides the occasional wink.
A woman in my network recently told me that she can get on average 20 mails a day. That's insane. I swear, females have A LOT of options on here. I'd probably be too busy getting laid to type this if I got 20 messages a day on here.
--NEW TOOL!! Their new album, "10,000 Days," which isn't scheduled to be released until May 2, leaked about a week ago, and I've been listening to it ever since.
I really like --parts-- of it.
I think "Wings for Marie" shows a growth and complexity that is commendable. The detail and intensity of the song is astounding, the instrumentals are well thought out yet catchy, and Maynard's vocals are simply brilliant: no one has a choir boy to violent maniac voice like Maynard, and he takes advantage of it through WFM and parts of this album by using his full range and abilities.
Though I'm not really into the drug references or spoken parts. Some of it I just didn't find interesting, perhaps because the rest of the album fails to reaches the intensity and depth of "Vicarious" and "WFM."
I'll say that WFM is now one of my favorite songs of all time (a hard list to get on), but 10k Days overall is a dissapointment.
I've been listening to WFM/10K days a lot. And the usual suspects: Mars Volta, Paradox Trio, etc. I haven't found much instrumental hip-hop besides Nujabes that I really appreciate.
I've been watching "Enterprise" lately. I never saw much of it when it was on tv. I'd heard a lot of bad things about it, but its a pretty entertaininig show, much more so then Voyager was. The time travel eps are great, but I've always been a sucker for time travel Star Trek eps cause they're usually the best. I'm in the 2nd season of Ent. now and plan to finish it through.
