New year means a new attitude

As we pass from an old year into a new one, it is popular to reflect and make resolutions for the new year. Many people make resolutions, few people keep them. I am guilty of that as many people are. As a matter of a fact, the last resolution I have stuck to was in 200 when I quit smoking cold turkey after 25 years of smoking. Now, while going from 2 packs a day to none is impressive and i am very proud of it, I want to tell you that this new resolution may prove to be just as difficult.
I am in a line of work that deals frequently with the public. I also have been in a position in the past on sites to deal with the "masses" as well. These experiences have left me jaded and even cynical. I am still a very happy person, and I like to think fun to be around, but overall my opinion of people has gone down. I used to assume the best of people until they proved me otherwise, and have gotten away from that. I would like to change that for the new year. I am going back to a positive outlook, and assume that most people are good people, until they prove they are not a good person. once they prove that, I will simply remove them from my life and continue being happy in my life. Sound easy? I am not so sure it will be. But I think, like smoking, it will be worth the effort. What does everyone else think?
I would also like to know from people out there, how there luck has been on AdultFriendFinder. I have found it to be a wonderful experience. I have a difficult time meeting new people, but once I do meet them and they get to know the real me, it seems like I make some terrific friends. The issue I would like to resolve is getting people to respond more frequently to my emails, so any thoughts on that would be greatly appreciated.

Take care all, I will look for your responses and write more soon!

I dunno. I keep saying to myself that it just saves time to assume that people are ignorant, irritating, and generally inclined not to think if at all possible. But then, I'm continually surprised and taken aback when I have to interact with them, so some part of me seems to refuse to give up hope, perhaps that part that's convinced that, given some well-meant guidance, they wouldn't act the way they do.

I'll applaud you for at least having the energy to try. I'd rather read a book than take on my cynicism. I do wish you luck, though.
