What is a chatroom?
What is a chatroom?
What is a chatroom? This is a question I've been asking myself lately. It seems to me it should be a place that you can go to talk with like minded people and hopefully make friends.
I've just started going to a chat room and have been welcomed by most. I do not type or spell well (thank God for spell check!) and most people have been understanding.
But what is it with the BOSSES? You know who I mean...the ones that feel they should run the chatroom. I was challenged by one of these self appointed bosses about my personal life the first night I went in. When someone tried to speak up for me, that person was told to "shut up". What right does anyone question ro challenge your personal life or tell someone else to 'shut up' up helping out a friend?
Speaking of taking up for someone, I'm an old fashioned woman at 53 years old. I was raised that a man was to be respectful of a woman...he opened the door for her, didn't speak rudely to her, etc, etc. You know most women like the old fashioned approach.
But recently, a man who stepped up for a woman in the chatroom was told by the so called bosses to mind his own business. Is chivalry dead or are some over-achieving women trying to kill it? Do they feel challenged by a decent man?
If these same women were in an empty parking lot and a thug hassled them, they would scream for help. So let's see: Help me when I scream, but leave me alone until I do.
What would happen if these men just put their hands in their pockets and walked on? What a mess we would be in then.
Just something to think about, ladies.....

Chat rooms attract a different crowd.|
I have only entered a few and left after 3 minutes of watching absolutely ludicrous juvenile behaviour. It would seem to be the venue for that very thing.
Blog are a world apart. Yes, as the number of bloggers has increased so too has the number of jerks. However, it is much easier to sort themout, and block them if necessary.
On the whole, you will find a very supportive group here, especially among the women who have found they share a great deal in common. And as to the men, among those who post on a regular basis and are popular among the ladies, you will discover that chivalry is not dead.

As the friend that was told to shut up, i completely agree. While i do not listen to these people, i was taken aback. Who do they think they are? My friendship is free, my friend |

"all it takes is for one good man to do nothing"
You cannot conceive the many without the one.
