According to Oscar Wilde: "Between men and women there is no friendship possible. There is passion, enmity, worship, love, but no friendship."
I don't think this is so. I wonder how he came to have that opinion, or if that really was his opinion. Many of the quotes by him (that I have read) seem to be the sort of flippant thing one would say simply to get attention.
