I had an interesting thought today - that freedom is being able to do things some people may not approved of. In the area of civil disobidence, it's the intentional breaking of the law to make a political or moral point.

And, of course, there is simply breaking the law for criminal purposes.

But if we are NOT free to do what other people might not approve of or other people might condemn, my contention is that we do not enjoy any kind of freedom.

Freedom is the ability to act contrary to other people's views, to say things other than what the majority holds, to print things that people might find controversial and that other people might wish to keep entirely out of sight.

Here's to freedom and the right to do what others might not approve.
