A Window in Time

There are small windows in time whereas veterans who served during these times are not eligible to join the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars). One of these small windows in time was during the admininstration of President Jimmy Carter (1976-1980) peanut farmer from Georgia. I'm proud to say that I was a veteran of this time period. I have the most respect for this man and I believe him to be the best president this country has had in my life time or maybe even the history of the USA. Soft spoken President Jimmy Carter would not allow any shots fired in anger including the hostage crisis in Iran in 1979 (although there was a failed rescue attempt that never got off the ground so to speak). To the chagrin of many nearly everyone went home unscathed. President Jimmy Carter cares about people for real no matter where they live in the world.

I never understood why people speak so badly of him, I thought he was a good president.

They're idiots. It's just a sign of the times. He is a strong trustworthy honest man, as always, who cares about people on the entire planet and loves his country too.
