Why Sweaty Gym Curry Must Banned

I love Thai food. I have eaten Indian food too. I love garlic and green onions and noodles (mmmmm, pad thai) and seafood all swimming together in each other's juices. A veritable food orgy.

Ask any of my friends who have gone to these restaurants with me...I do not like curry. I avoid it on the menus and still can appeciate such wonderful ethnic foods.

However, I now despise curry. Hate it. Abhor it. Why? Because of SWEATY GYM CURRY. I struggled recently with getting my ass back to the gym to get healthier, lose some weight, you know...knock out all those hesitant A F Fers with my wanton sex appeal (a few sizes smaller).

Today made me think I may NEVER set foot in a gym again. I love to use the eliptical running machine. It works both upper and lower body with very low impact. At the peak of my work-out frenzy right after my divorce I was up to six miles a day on the damn thing.

So, I spied one machine left as I entered the cardio area. Set up my iPod Shuffle ("life is that random") and started jamming. It was the last eliptical rider in the row, right next to the treadmills. I smiled at the lady next to me, equally huffing away, sweating, anti-oxidizing... whatever happens. Then ohmygosh. SWEATY GYM CURRY alert.

Sing along with the happy song; don't think about the smell...come on, Mischief you can do it...that awful smell is just tempting you to give up, get off the machine...

You might guess what happened if you've ever been in my situation, exposed to a smell you just cannot tolerate. I became seriously nauseated. Seriously.

I realized, I absolutely HAD to get off the machine. I mean, just imagine...the smell of sweaty gym curry and barf? Wouldn't be fair to the people around me.

So I ran...(by then I was sufficiently stretched out) to the locker room, changed clothes, came home and ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's "Cherry Garcia"...all the while, breathing in the deep, satisfying aroma of calories.

I'll try again tomorrow, but this is why sweaty gym curry must be banned. It's bad for my health and as it turns out...fattening.
